Women were treated with respect in public pre-Roe. I remember! Men everywhere were kind and paid attention to any woman. All men would open doors, put air in her tires, carry packages, etc. By George, you're absolutely right!
I was raised in the 50's, and I well remember the respect that men ordinarily showed to women. It was a cultural norm that I was raised to follow, and you know what? Men enjoyed giving women that special treatment. I always have.

I’m so sorry for young people today. They don’t realize that each day, back then, women experienced pleasant non-threatening attention from men. It made life calmer and more uplifted in general for both sexes.
