My mother's last words were, "I wanna go!"
Yep, at 99, who's to say. I recall visiting my grandmother shortly after she was placed in a nursing home and she emphatically told me she was ready, and wanted to go...it wasn't too long afterwards that she went.

Nope, he’s still in “grave condition” according to the SI site- an ominous description, I’d say.

Washington Post has that headline, but, no story saying so just a slide show of his career.

Bill Walton was on one of his leftist rants at UCLA about how he was gonna do this and that and after he finished. Wooden calmly said to him, “It was nice having you on the team, Bill”
Prayers up to Coach.

Bless you, John Wooden - as you have blessed us.
I had the privilege of meeting his son Jim last year. Needless to say, Jim loves and admires his father.

That's a great quote!
Here's another one which has been my favorite:

Though I am sorry that Wooden might not be with us much longer (crossing fingers on this one!), he’s lived such a long and productive life that his legacy will never be forgotten. John Wooden is not only perhaps the greatest college basketball coach of all time, but also the one of the greatest sports coaches this world has ever seen, period.

I have to pull for Wooden. I always liked him. I can say that knowing he put together some of the best teams money could buy.

It was the most astounding (and uplifting) thing to hear, I’ll say. One can’t help but wonder what she beheld as she was speaking...
