NEW YORK,- A New York woman's lawsuit against Citigroup says she was fired because bosses deemed her feminine beauty to be a distraction for male colleagues.
Debrahlee Lorenzana, 33, said in her city Supreme Court lawsuit that she was ordered not to wear turtlenecks, pencil skirts, fitted suits or heels in the workplace because the tight clothing made her body "too distracting" for male coworkers, the New York Daily News reported Thursday.
"Never did I ever show cleavage," Lorenzana said. "I like fashion, but I always dressed professionally."
"I can't help it that I have curves," she said. "And I'm not going to go eat and gain 50 or 100 pounds because my job wants me to be the same size as everyone else."
The woman's attorney, Jack Tuckner of Tuckner Sipser Weinstock & Sipser, said bosses at Citi's Rockefeller Center branch moved Lorenzana to a secluded part of the office as retaliation for her sexual harassment complaints and fired her one month later.
"All it came down to was, 'We don't want to deal with you, because you're just too good looking,'" Tuckner said.
Citigroup released a statement describing the lawsuit as "without merit."
"Citi is committed to fostering a culture of inclusion and providing a respectful environment in the workplace," the statement said.
Here’s a lesson for anyone interested. Treat this woman as if she has the worst BO you could ever imagine.
In two weeks she’ll be banging your door down and blowing your phone up with messages about how much she “wants you” yadda yadda yadda.
I don’t know much of value in this life, but this, this I understand like no other.
Maybe our current administration will find her a job. Is she pro-choice?
And you’d think that for a nationally publicized picture to go with her complaint, she’d maybe not show so much h00t.
Oh pffft! She doesn’t care about that job at Citigroup, she’s riding this horse to get ‘discovered’.
She’s pretty, she’s hot but she’s also a bonehead and attention whore.
That's the real issue. She's good looking, so if any dude flirted or asked her out, she filed a SH claim. No details on whether they were valid. I would believe if they were, that would have been in the article.
SO, she files SH claims and didn't get a payday there, she got fired, so NOW she's suing because she was too good looking....I think I have the real story now. She is looking for a legal lottery from her bank employer and sexual harrasment is the way to go. I hope it don't go her way.
I'd still hit it though.... :)
Been with a company that had hordes of these women. Wear clothes that were more appropriate for going out on the town, in the office; then complain to Personnel if a guy was caught looking at her. She was fishing for a sexual harassment lawsuit; and the company was faced with the decision of getting rid of her now, or being sued by her later.
Sexual Harassment can be described by an undesired look, comment, touch, nuance, over-heard conversation, gesture, expression, statement, whistle or even a glance - in a manner that the recipient doesn't want.
Work Clothes
LOL!
she got fired for her attitude no doubt
Shiny
I think I could get a job at Citigroup, based on the criteria! LOL
Yep. My guess is that she is a raging narcissist and alienated everyone in the office until they fired her. So she sues. Just a wild guess...
she is gorgeous!!!!
Let her leave the flunky bank & go make some $$ in movies! she obviously has spunk & a great body
Comparable to Henry Waxman’s face? No, Henry Waxman’s mug, gives the new meaning of beauty in another parallel.
the replacement the bank executive wives chose?
Never ever guilty!
(anyone who even thinks that should be flogged!)
“I can’t help it that I have curves,”
Wellllll.....those curves on top look like her doc helped a bit.....
