Lady Gaga's 'borderline positive' comment sheds light on lupus

Addressing rumors that have circulated about her health, Lady Gaga told CNN's Larry King this week that she doesn't have lupus, but has tested "borderline positive" for the condition.
It may sound contradictory, but doctors say this can occur with lupus.
Like many autoimmune diseases, lupus is a mystifying condition. It's often hard to diagnose because of its vague and varying symptoms. No two cases are alike, according to medical experts. The disease can come and go without explanation, and its severity varies from mild discomfort to death.

Took about a year and three different doctors to find my Lupus. . . .and under obama-care, after one doc, maybe two, any other consultations would have been denied as unnecessary.
Oh joy. . .

It took 10 years to find out what was wrong with me. Doctors kept treating the symptoms but no one connected the dots. I finally pushed the issue when we received a solicitation letter from the Lupus Foundation with a bookmark that said you might have Lupus if you have 3 of these 10 symptoms. I had 8. I gave the card to my current internist and said let’s talk Lupus. She sent me to a rheumatologist and my years of questioning were finally over. I was so glad to have a diagnosis, that I almost didn’t care what it was.
One doctor I had seen told me it was all in my head.
