“And what was the action that Obama took that caused Lakin to be court martialed?”

After having the unmitigated gall to be born at several different places around the globe to a non-citizen father (which he cleverly suppressed by writing about it in two popular books and including it in numerous speeches) he dared to win a majority of popular votes and electoral college votes. Then he had the audacity to have those votes certified by Vice President Cheney.
What really gets to me is that BHO had the gall to have the Supreme Court swear him in as President and then bumble about in the Office of the Presidency while having the GOP Governor and AG of Hawaii falsify their records.
Talk about chutzpah.

Ways that BHO has caused me harm that give me standing to sue him for stuff:

1) Got a ticket for double parking in front of the Whitehouse.
2) Had my flight delayed because Air Force One was picking up a pizza chef.
3) My brand new GM vehicle leaks oil onto your dirveway (actual damages here!)
4) Just because…
5) Obama’s 47th televised adress of the year pre-empted Dancing With The Stars.
6) I joined AmeriCorps and got deployed to Cleaveland.
7) Freerepublic Birther threads are taking too much time away from work and someone needs to put an end to this.

It’s his entire claim. It is the ONLY thing relevant.

ANd when it is finally demonstrated that Obama actually is an unqualified usurper, you gonna dig his body back up and retrun it to his family?

LOL, with as many Body Blows as you've taken here Non-Seq,
I'm surprised you can still stand at all.

Non-Sequitur, how many fingers am I holding up? No, just one finger.
Now ... can you guess which one it is?

“Perhaps you should stick with trolling on Yahoo or CNN ... you’re out of your league here on FR.”

Yes, British Petroleum 2, I am out of my league here, as in slumming beneath it. I’m used to dealing with people far more rational and less in the grip of deep delusion than this crowd. But it has been a useful reminder of how fragile civilization is, so thanks for that much.

I must say I’m shocked at the amount of repeated slap downs going on in this thread from supposedly old time Freepers who have NEVER posted on an NBC thread before. They have no clue as to who Lakin is or what the issue is but they’ve certainly slithered out from the underground with their “told you so” attitude. They are also wasting their valuable time with multiple posts on a thread that holds no interest for them. That other site must be missing a bunch of their trolls.

Maybe I don’t know enough about this but to me it appears that they are prosecting a military hero for seeking the truth.

What they are doing is subjecting to court martial a fool who refuses to accept the reality of his situation and instead wants to believe self-pleasing litanies that are unsupported by any reality.

Lakin’s foolishness is evidenced by his choice of actions. What he claims to want to achieve is not going to happen and cannot happen in the arena he has chosen. And he is flushing his career down the toilet to no good end or result.

Watch the matter and you'll see that the end result will be pretty much what those derided as ‘trolls’ and ‘Obots’ said it would be. And the birthers will scream and cry about how Lakin was denied justice when the utterly predictable and expected happens.

And ask yourself, if Lakin is a hero are the other 99.999999% of the military cowards and traitors? Or maybe this one guy is a little off his rocker.

Obama is issuing legal orders, he has been duly sworn and installed in his office

You think so? Cheney didn't follow his duty in the electoral votes and was any of the multiple times he attempted to be sworn in done correctly?

It’s his entire claim. It is the ONLY thing relevant.

His claim is Obama is ineligible. His offense is refusing to obey the orders of his brigade commander and missing movement. What is relevant to one is not necessarily relevant to the other.

It doesn’t matter what I think. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court thinks that he was duly sworn in and the officers of both Houses of Congress agree. Those are about the only folks who count.

Your argument is too emotionally charged for me to accept it.

Obviously Lakin stepped outside the lines but he is the only Man I have heard speak up for us and we are desperate for that.

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn’t a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

.

The problem is that birtherism doesn't stand up well to critical analysis and this upsets those who have invested a lot of time arguing the issue. One doesn't need to have debated the issue ad nauseam on countless eligibility threads for months and months to realize that this birther stuff mostly nonsense and the issue has not and will never amount to anything. In fact, those who haven't spent much time at all pondering the issue are able to recognize immediately how ridiculous these birther claims are.

Birthers are an albatross around the neck of conservatism and many of us long-time Freepers understand this.

If you find emotionally charged arguments less than compelling, you’re gonna love these threads.

And a poem about the systematic use of government coercion by police power has little relevance to a single nut who wont to accept evidence that he doesn’t support what he wants to beleive.

I’ll accept that as your lack of knowledge of reality. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Nearly all great causes have a martyr. In modern American culture victim status is no less important than in other cultures. Col. Lakin is a good man sacrificing himself for a higher purpose. Nothing resonates with people more. And the Obama adminstrations typical attempts to ridicule and villainize him is a very risky strategy. For it will only help to publicise Col. Lakin's plight. Even many of Obama’s supporters will be wondering why he would continue hiding documents that would normally be considered innocuous at the expense of making a martyr out of a doctor.

You make a very good point, but I don't think LTC Larkin will succeed. If this forum is any guide, the several threads on this topic over the past few days demonstrated that very few know who Larkin is, know what his position is, and why it might be important. If our fellow Freepers are not paying attention, who else might be?
