I am not sure who would be interested in viewing these pictures but I had the tremendous honor of being escorted by a friend who works at Kennedy Space Center in late February as a mission specialist around Endeavor, the tower, the waiting room, the walk out ramp, and a number of other area's of KSC.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity that will never happen again with the shuttles being retired. I am just getting around to loading up some of the photos and wanted to share them here.
Enjoy!
WOW! What a fantastic opportunity! I’m jealous and absoulutely amazed!
I think your best shot is from underneath the launching platform looking right up the nozzles of the SSMEs...that’s about as impressive as walking underneath a Nimitz class aircraft carrier in drydock...
Well done, and great pictures!
You’ll never know how much I appreciate this post. Thank you MFH.
These are excellent pictures!!!!! I hope copy right these. They are that good!!!!
Thank you so much for sharing these with us.

In the fire trench? That shot scared the hell out of me. All I kept thinking was...please God...nobody test anything by accident.

Just awesome. Ad astra!
Nice pics.
Will the last person at KSC please remember to turn out the lights.
I did the Atlantis landing as well and took a few that day. When I have some extra time and patience to crop etc..I will upload them to this thread.
WOW! Defiantly a once in a lifetime chance to see such an amazing machine up close for the last time (before it heads to a museum).
Exciting! I liked the shot from the fire trench too. “Please, please don’t light it up!”
Wow. great stuff.
