I dont watch TV, but I own a few series on DVD that I watch in order to avoid commercials and to watch on my own time.
Im looking for something that doesnt insult my spiritual or political (Christian Conservative) beliefs. And I dont want comedies that exist on juvenile sexual innuendoes.
I love and own the first five seasons of LOST and THE OFFICE. I have the first two seasons of 24, but quit when I saw that the producers are too cowardly to depict Muslim terrorists not backed by white corporate types as the bad guys. I also have BAND OF BROTHERS and the first 10 seasons of THE SIMPSONS.
I was thinking of getting the first season of SCRUBS except Im uncomfortable watching with my 16 year old daughter because of the frequent sexual situations.
I heard good things about CHUCK.
Any suggestions for a series I can get into?
Are they any worse than 24? Jack gutted a guy like a fish about two hours ago ... after thumping on his kidneys for a while, ripping off a piece of flesh with pliers, and blowtorching him.

Deadwood, seasons one and two.
(:>)) Sue Johnston. The only problem with watching the show is that you need closed captioning.

The Wire is awesome. I’m into Rescue Me now. Not for family viewing.
:)
I just don't like crude or juvenile humor aimed at adolescent audiences.
Now there is a blast from the past. Great show.
TOUR OF DUTY (only 3 seasons and reasonably priced)
“Psych” and “MONK” “the Red Green show” were/are my favorites
We also stopped at season 10 of the simpsons, we just ordered “Little House on the Prairie”, “The Andy Griffith Show”, “Alf”,& “the Little Rascals”
We are also big on Abbot & Costello, The Three Stooges, the old black and white comedies.
This is I think the best series ever made. A close second and possibly even better are the Young Indiana Jones series.
Lastly, check out hulu.com. Hulu has just about everything. A laptop and a cable give you a new tv world.
Indiana Jones as a Life Scout. During every important event and some not so important, Indy was there having a fantastic adventure.
Nice
“Served” was great. I loved Benny Hill as a kid.
The Benny Hill is NOT for you.
I’ll just jump in and say “as time goes by” a BBC series my wife and I love.
I would recommend a series called “The American Heritage Series” with David Barton. It is a series of DVDs which sets out to teach what we should know about our heritage as opposed to what we are and were being taught.
Try ‘The Waltons’, a wonderful series that ran for 6-8 years in the 70-80 time frame. It is the sensitive portrayal of various situations that happen to a good family growing up on their own moutain (small mountain) home surviving the depression in the 1930’s. The whole family, from youngest to oldest will enjoy it, and it teaches many moral lessons, and is always well written and interesting.
I got 4 or 5 years of the series on dvd at Sams Club last year.
Enjoy.
I have not watched Tv in 20 yrs we rent movies from netflix maybe 3 or 4 a week on a 42 plasma with DTS sound, cheaper than going to the movies and a nicer class of people at home..
I looked it up and yes i have seen it,when i lived in Ireland 30 yrs ago,the Brits had great drama shows..
BBC,ITV had some of the greatest tv shows ever, cable tv in the U.S is the closest to it...
BTW if you like a politically incorrect comedy show check out “Little Britain”,they make fun of everyone, fat, gay, crippled even unmarried mothers...
Benny Hill is awful. I don’t think I’m a prude, either.
