Hooters girl weight probation. Hooters waitress Cassandra Smith, 20, is on work probation because of her weight even though she's thin. It's another case where a restaurant employee is taking legal action against the company for possible discrimination.
"I was confused because I don't wear the biggest uniform size," Smith said in a statement. "I'm not overweight by any means... If anything... I've been losing weight." According to her general manager, she's too heavy to work as one of their servers, even though the girl stands 5 foot 8 inches tall and actually weighs 132 pounds.
It all started when she received her annual evaluation last week, and she was asked to attend a meeting on a conference call with Hooters of America, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. The meeting started out wonderful, and she was complimented for her excellent reviews, customer satisfaction, and her cooperation with co-workers. However, she was told by the company that she received the lowest rating for her "uniform fitting" and must do something to reduce the extra pounds
No one wants to see a fat hooters girl.
she looks about 30 she should stay out of the sun
Look Not Guilty to me, but I need to see the “offending” corpus...
so.. she’s built like an owl - she BELONGS at hooters!;-)
Okay a head shot isn’t going to cut it for this thread. I’ll let you off with a warning this time. Others will be along to make a similar comment very soon, I’m sure.
When you represent a company, the company has a right and, in fact, a responsibility, to ensure that their representative is in line with the expectations put forth to the clients.
If she got a tattoo on her face, she’d likely lose her job too. Part of the condition of employment at Hooters, is a weight requirement. As a non-federal, non-taxpayer subsidized corporation, I think Hooters (or any other company) is well within their rights to do this.

Plenty of pictures on that thread....
I saw her on TV. SHE provided photos displaying a noticeable ‘muffin top.’ While she was NOT wearing “the biggest uniform size” she was NOT wearing the smaller size so well. She IS an attractive woman with a good height to weight ratio ... but she should work on the tummy for good measure.
Interestingly, the Hooters supervisors who told her to lose weight or be on probation are both female.
I saw her on tv, she’s fine. There is a cat fight behind this generated problem.
5’,8” and 132 pounds?
She would be a size 7 or 8. Perfect!
Oh, and Not Guilty!
A lawsuit she will lose unless the Supreme Court/Congress one day further inhibits how private business may discriminate.
not sure if you want to ping for this type of article, but it is from MI.
5’8”, 132.
so, 2” shorter than me and 10 lbs heavier. no way that’s overweight.
I’m sure she’ll have plenty of local and state politicians willing to form a committee to study this situation. It’ll probably take a couple of years and a few million $$$, but they’ll tell us it’s worth it.
If she had any self eseteem she would not debase herself by working at Hooters.
Good wings, though.
i’m guessing the problem wasn’t the weight... but the shape
She could always get a job across the street at “Heffers”.
Personally I don’t think 5-8, 132 lbs is fat, but then I’ve never gone to Hooters, either.
Why does the American way now involve running to a lawyer to sue a business anytime your feelings are hurt?
Get a new job!
I imagine this ‘victim’ will go on to victimize anyone who does not appreciate just how precious she is through the use of lawyers... some day her husband, if she can find one stupid enough to sign the contract for her... will regret it.
