The big question I have is, “Will the Big 12 change its name if two schools leave?”

Maybe they will install passenger rail service between the Big 10 towns for game days?

What will happen if the Big Ten expands? Answer: there will be a renaissance in mass transit rail projects, unicorns will populate the praries and we will all be given free skittles.

Interesting article. I knew that if Missouri joined the Big 10 that would mean the end of the Border War but I’d fogotten that it would also likely mean the end of their recruiting in Texas and Oklahoma.

The Big Ten is irrelevant and they know it,. The Football is slow and not competitive anymore with the SEC, USC or Big 12.

Its the dying rust belt conference.

"..free skittles...."

I'm holding out for Necco Wafers, properly aged to increase the water content.

Their history suggests they won't, setting up an astronomical battle of which conference should legally claim the title of "Big 10" if Nebraska and Missouri migrate east.

Why would they? They didn't change their name when they added Penn State as the 11th school. They did change the logo to shadow an "11" around the "T," however:

The Big Ten is irrelevant and they know it,.

I assume that you are joking. The Big Ten has a huge cash machine that no other conference can match, which is why it has the luxury of now picking and choosing which teams will join and whether or not other conferences will survive.

Like Notre Dame, it does not matter if the football play is bad as long as the cash comes in they have clout in contract talks.

How many teams can the Big 10 (11) add to it’s membership and still call itself the Big 10 (with a straight face)?

I've seen speculation that they may become a "super conference" with 16 schools.

I understand that if University of Chicago ever wants back in, they have to be accepted.

Indeed. And by comparison, the Big Ten has so much money that Notre Dame might even give up its sweetheart deal with NBC in order to join.

I have heard that if Missouri and Nebraska jump to the Big 10, the Big XII will woo TCU and Arkansas.

Then I’ve heard the Pac 10 will try to get Utah and Colorado (forsaking Boise State - Pac 10 chickens).

I’ve also read somewhere that Texas wanted to go independent (a la Notre Loser) and make even more money.

All of the above sucks.
