Thanks for posting this video. I love Ray Stevens, he’s a very talented guy. He not only does funny songs, he has done many religious songs and he has the most beautiful singing voice. I chose a song he did and played it at the end of my father’s funeral (I’ll Fly Away”). I had many comments on how appropriate and beautiful the song was and nobody could believe it was Ray Stevens singing. I guess everyone always thinks he only does funny songs. He’s one of my favorites.

Thanks for posting. Hope this gets some notice from Freepers this weekend (5/22/10). The votes on youtube.com are currently about 3x more "thumbs up" than "thumbs down".
Excellent video, highly recommended.
Also, I find it interesting that Ray Stevens ("You cant rollerskate in a buffalo herd" , "Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?" , "The Streak" , etc) has adapted to the music video / youtube culture. At least somewhat. Good video.

oops. I may have gotten them mixed up.
researching...
nope. Looks like Roger Miller wrote it.
By the way, episode 104 of the muppet show featured a cover of the song by "Gogolala Jubilee Jugband."
The things you can learn on the internet...
