if you watch Fox News, you've seen tons of Mayflower Mover commercials with that 20ft. marionette. She creeps me out. I don't get it..I don't get why a 20ft. puppet moving makes me want to use Mayflower...comments?
Saturday Night Live did a very funny sketch about just that.
Well, I’m not a marketing professional but I love the ad. I enjoy watching her movements and watching the puppeteers and the rig they created to sit her down ever so carefully.
Oh, i am sorry to hear that. Sometimes people are traumatized for life by bad childhood experiences.
I don’t blame you for not liking this odd commercial!
It reminds me of the movie “Being John Malkovich” in which one of the characters is a puppeteer by trade and in one instance lowers an enormous puppet of Emily Dickinson over a highway overpass.
Yes. Almost as much as their new green logo.
Hubby and I love it but we really like marionettes.
Dang that’s almost a newbie post. LOL
On a marionette those are usually controlled inside so one of the people are controlling them.
ROTFLMAO!!!!
LOL That is what I always yell at the TV...get out of door dummy!
Hey, I saw we get one free newbie post for ever five years we put in, how’s that??? :)
HA! That was great! I don’t remember that one. I love all those ETrade commercials. Very clever.
Fungus grows on you too. That aside, I do find Flo kind of hot (in some bizarre way).
I like when the alarm goes off and the security company calls and she picks up the phone and the guy starts off: “Hello there! This is Bob, from Broadview Security...how are you today?....Are you by chance in any danger?...”
That commercial is kinda odd and creepy. The one I never get tired of seeing is the dead bunny brought back to life with a balloon and static hair. Always smile at the end of that one. (can’t remember what brand of drink they are promoting, so it might not be as good as I think)
LOL

Thanks! Hadn’t seen this. Looks like the kind of idea copywriters get late at night when they are completely stoned and it sounds great.
In marketing, “visually interesting” means (with all due respect) jack squat. If no one...I mean NO one...gets your message or even remembers your company, you just wasted a lot of money.
Let’s just say if whoever signed off on that ad worked for me, they’d be looking for a new job.
