if you watch Fox News, you've seen tons of Mayflower Mover commercials with that 20ft. marionette. She creeps me out. I don't get it..I don't get why a 20ft. puppet moving makes me want to use Mayflower...comments?
She has fish lips, so I can’t take her seriously.
Whenever I see this commercial I think that probably 20 highly paid executives signed off on this and I STILL DON’T GET IT!

In that same category for me is “Go Meat!” - those commercials make me less and less likely to buy the Hillshire Farms brand every time I see them. And don’t get me started on Staples ads with the screaming “That’s a low price!”. I loathe those ads.
Ad agencies straining to be creative, combined with brand managers with no marketing sense whatsoever lead to this.
Recall those singing, dancing roadkill rodents for Quizno’s Subs. Nice association with food, huh?

LOL! Funny you should say that. When I was three years old, my parents took us to Old Orchard Beach where I had a relative who was a VENTRILOQUIST!!! I still remember SCREAMING when he took out that dummy! There are pictures of it. If I can find it I’ll post it! Yea, not a puppet person.

I am with you, Hildy. One of the oddest ads I have ever seen. Why on earth would that make me hire that company? What a colossal waste of money.
I don’t either. It’s not an effective add at all. I’ve seen it a number of times, but I had no idea it was a mayflower commercial until I read this post.
I have to admit I only pay half attention to commercials, but on this one, I keep wondering why did they give the marionette fish lips!? Is this a west coast marionette or something?
