LAKE FOREST -- A woman in Lake Forest shot her neighbor's dog after the animal attacked her 6-year-old daughter, authorities said.
The attack happened just after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday ...
A 14-year-old boy heard screams and saw a brown and white boxer grab his 6-year-old sister's shoulder while she was playing on the driveway with her 3-year-old sister.
The boy ran to the driveway and tried to pull his sister away from the animal, but the dog then bit the girl seven times on the leg, head, shoulder and face, authorities said.
The girl's mother, Jennifer Cooper, was on the porch with her 1-year-old child and saw the dog bite her daughter. She said she tried to get the children in the house and scare the dog away.
She told police the dog tried to lunge at the youngest child, and she then went inside the home, got a Glock pistol and shot the dog in the throat.
"It could have been much worse," Cooper told KTLA. "I could be at the E.R. right now with a child that's been severely mauled or even dead."

In Minnesota back in the 70’s you could “hunt” pack dogs any time of the year. I imagine it is still open season on them. It was a problem with the dear herds.
I was very lucky. Our Boxer (Buster Douglas died age 13.5) wouldn’t leave the yard if I was outside. Never even had to leash him unless we went for walks. But our beagle was a wanderer, as you can imagine. On the rare occasions that they got loose, he’d follow her around. He wasn’t one to wander off. Once, the kids left the fence gate open and he walked out looking for us. We found him at the front door just waiting for us to let him in. ROFL
No!!!!
Don’t look at that video!
It’s too HORRIBLE to endure!
Then, you have our cats who jumped at our dog looking like attacking stuffed toys when they met her. They still will attack her if she goes in their room.
OMG....you’d subject children to that gruesome display??
I hope that they can someday find inner peace, again!
;-D
I have a pet rabbit who *none* of the dogs will mess with. I didn’t name her “Psycho Bunny” for nothing.
You haven’t lived until you seen a rabbit charge big dogs, up on her hind legs, flailing her sharp-clawed front legs, bearing her teeth and screaming like a banshee...LOL
My *rabbit hunting* hunting Ibizans looked up at me like “WTH, Mom?!?”
Please....I beg of you....no more.
[You know I’m sensitive about scary things]....8-o
Then, whatever you do, don't watch this.
Get out the holy hand grenade!
You give free insulin shots with each video?
(OK pal, you asked for it...)
Sure, you laugh.
Drive your dog out here and throw her into PB’s bunny run....LOL
[every myth has a grain of truth...and I’ve got *the* original Psycho Bunny to prove it]
:)
The horror....the horror.....
My old Ibizan Minny loved my pet rats.
She’d lay on the sofa and they’d crawl up on her and “spiff” her neck and ears for her.
Sometimes, they’d “belly flop” off the back of the sofa onto her back.
She’d just roll her eyes.
[”Ugh! Kids! *sigh*]
Then she’d try and return their grooming favors by nosing them over onto their backs to clean them like puppies.
They always got really indignant about it.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Ain’t nuthin’ better than interspecies snorgling!
This beats all of those.

Dude...you *might* wanna rephrase [or least clarify] that remark....:)
Shhhhh! SA& has a thing for the First Wookie.
Everyone’s nightmare...to be stalked and attacked by a Dobermann in their own home!
