Mexico's president "we send back them."

Posted on 05/20/2010 9:49:02 AM PDT by navysealdad

May 20, 2010 Washington, D.C.) - Mexico's president addressed a joint meeting of Congress on Thursday, urging members to work toward fixing the immigration issues that have plagued the border relations of the neighboring countries.

In his call for reform, though, Calderon denounced Arizona's recently amended SB1070 law, which requires law enforcement officials to question during a "lawful stop, detention or arrest" people suspected of being in the country illegally.

"I strongly disagree with the recently adopted law in Arizona," Calderon said to a standing ovation from the members of Democrat Congress. "It is a law that ... introduces a terrible idea using racial profiling as the basis for law enforcement."

Now let's see what he said on CNN yesterday.

May 19, 2010

WOFF BLITZER: So if people want to come from Guatemala or Honduras or El Salvador or Nicaragua, they want to just come into Mexico, they can just walk in?

CALDERON: No. They need to fulfill a form. They need to establish their right name. We analyze if they have not a criminal precedent. And they coming into Mexico. Actually...

BLITZER: Do Mexican police go around asking for papers of people they suspect are illegal immigrants?

CALDERON: Of course. Of course, in the border, we are asking the people, who are you?

And if they explain...

BLITZER: At the border, I understand, when they come in.

CALDERON: Yes.

BLITZER: But once they're in...

CALDERON: But not -- but not in -- if -- once they are inside the -- inside the country, what the Mexican police do is, of course, enforce the law. But by any means, immigration is a crime anymore in Mexico.

BLITZER: Immigration is not a crime, you're saying?

CALDERON: It's not a crime.

BLITZER: So in other words, if somebody sneaks in from Nicaragua or some other country in Central America, through the southern border of Mexico, they wind up in Mexico, they can go get a job...

CALDERON: No, no.

BLITZER: They can work.

CALDERON: If -- if somebody do that without permission, we send back -- we send back them.

BLITZER: You find them and you send them back?

CALDERON: Yes.

Rare kudos to Blitzer for at least broaching the subject. I’ll bet he caught hell from management later.

Actually, I think Mexicans are perfectly OK with that distinction between the two countries' methods of fighting illegal aliens. It's just that Mexico claims has territorial designs on the United States and believes its people have a special, unimpeded right to settle here.

Yep, with internal checkpoints, according to Mexico's immigration webpage.

No - he and the US government have a private agreement to let Mexico’s undesirables come here to reduce the risk of a Communist revolution in Mexico. So both he and Obama have to engage in all this ridiculous tap dancing to keep up pretenses - and they are both mad at Arizona for infringing on the arrangement.

It’s just that Mexico claims has territorial designs=It’s just that Mexico has territorial designs

It helps if I proof it before sending.

No. He is El Presidente of a narco cartel country where life for the peons is worthless.

Obama voters are the evil psychos and so are Dem politicians (all of them) who support open borders and RINOs like McCain, MArcos Rubio, PErry, Whitman, Graham-nesty, the Bush clan, Kay Bailey, Cornyn and all the other s**t RINOs.

Cognitive dissonce among the Left --

Of course Mexico tends to its own borders! What country wouldn't? Of course Mexico finds and prosecutes people who break the law! What country wouldn't??

Now, on the subject of the United States, it's just fascistic to patrol the borders! These people deserve a better life! And who would be so cruel as to disrupt their quest for happiness by actually apply the existing immigration laws?? Aren't we the land of the free?

The Democrats (and plenty of RINOs) hate the US and are deliberately adopting policies that will destroy this country. When Mexico has more respect for the Rule of Law, than we do, you know we're in serious trouble.

Hopefully Calderon was deported before he was able to have an anchor baby. The DoS should've checked to make sure his wife wasn't pregnant when they arrived......

Calderon may be looking for a way to stay and that's why he takes issue with the AZ law. Apparently you can't get political asylum from a regime you lead.

Customarily, on the HWY 57 going north, immigration police get on buses and asks to see everyone’s ID. The Central Americans are yanked off, and make a sizeable hefty contribution, when I rode the bus, the Central Americans said they got taken for $100 each..went into the pockets of the immigration police, at 2 oclock in the am, no video cameras.

It’s really the only explanation that makes sense...even Bush wanted to grant some level of amnesty to these illegal immigrants. They must be worried that unrest in Mexico and a communist takeover could cause a border war, so they’d rather just “dilute” the communists here.

It’s the “kill us slowly via poison; maybe there’s an antidote” mentality that even some of the Republican politicians embrace.

CALDERON: Of course. Of course, in the border, we are asking the people, who are you?

I was irritated Blitzer cut Calderone off here, rather than let him elaborate on how the Mexican police ask people for their papers and so on.

But still. Point made. Very clearly.

"Of course, we ask people for papers. Of course, you should not."
