May the message of We The People ring loudly across this nation; arrogant Elitist corrupt politicians in DC and elsewhere are through.

I appreciate your comments. But I think simpler is better. Here is my thinking:
You need to find a way to keep these guys from staying forever. That serves no one. If the states want to set up a pension for their critters that want to spend their lives “representing” then go for it.
If we simply say that serving is its own reward, then they will know that going in.
And, yeah—corruption charges should be added to the constitution along the same lines as treason.
Arlen,
At one time you had dignity and power. But you swam in the cesspool too long and grew toxic yourself. You no longer have any attachment to the people who sent you, and they have no attachment to you. You got absorbed by ‘The Process’ and no longer remembered ‘The Purpose’. You do not and will probably never understand what just happened to you. I pity you.
I love the look of misery when an elitist politician falls off his pedestal.
Some say that term limits are the definable statement of complete mistrust of politicians in general. It also begs the question: are there no "good" politicians that do such a good job that they should be kept in office?
If we simply say that serving is its own reward, then they will know that going in. Absolutely true! But they can be removed from office by a simple vote....and they know that too!
And, yeahcorruption charges should be added to the constitution along the same lines as treason.
True enough...but it is a very difficult thing to prove treason (can you remember the last time this was done?); I fear it would be even more difficult to prove (and get a conviction on) "corruption".
After all, we just had a "family values" rino resign for having an affair with a staffer, another dem who "mis-spoke" (politicians never "tell lies" any more - they "mis-speak"), and we had a politician who enjoyed the oral attentions of an intern, lied about it to the public and to federal prosecutors, was impeached (and rightly so) but was never convicted (as he should have been), because those who had to vote for conviction were as cowardly, corrupt, and "crooked" as was the impeached politician. "Convitct me, and you convict yourself." was the mantra.
No...I think the vote is a good weapon against "career" politicians be they corrupt, lying, grafters....or good people.
Benedict Arlen...I like it!
Im not prepared to have my 29-year record in the United States Senate decided by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate, not prepared to have that record decided by that jury, Mr. Specter declared in a rather defiant tone at a press conference Tuesday afternoon
--------------------------------------------Arlen Specter; April, 2009
It sucks to be him.
You my friend are “SHOVEL READY”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anybody seen that pic of Arlen coming out of the voting booth yesterday?? It was on Drudge, but I can’t find it now. The look on ole’ Snarlin’s face was absolutely priceless.
The Face of a Failed Traitor.
It won’t be long and he’ll be able to go fishing with T. Kennedy.
No one’s life is without meaning. No I wasn’t kidding. He looks ill. I feel sorry for him for being silly enough to think that the turncoat thing would work out for him. I hope he gets some rest and recovers some of his health.
Man.
So many politicians entirely forget who they work for.
Remember, oh politicians, we REJECTED a system of nobility and rule by divine right! If that's the system you prefer, MOVE TO EUROPE!
Go to your room Mr. Sphincter ... if your phone doesn't ring, it's us.
Specter has a guaranteed job on teh speaker circuit AND he has whatever thinktank no-show job he was promissed (bribed) for jumping parties.
True ... but the SOB is GONE from the Senate ... which is where he wanted to be.
F him.
The guy is 80 years old. He should have retired a long time ago. Power is addictive. He won’t last long.
Loo-hooo-hoooooooo-zer!
