Sorry for the confusion.
The picture is a man police arrested while investigating this rape. Maybe related, may not be related.

I couldn’t figure this out, because the link you provided actually brought up both pics for me.
Those doors are very heavy so you gotta push ‘em shut *really* slow.
[you wouldn’t want to strain your back]
Polly Klass was abducted from her bedroom. It happens.
She was actually back there with a handful of girls who were over for a slumber party. Her murderer came in the window, scared the girls into submission, and took her off. There were adults in the living room, no clue as to what was going on.
He continues to relax on death row at San Quentin, the pig.
Happened to Jessica Lunsford and Elizabeth Smart, too.
I understand the need to assume the parents were irresponsible. It helps us believe something like this couldn’t happen to our child, since we are responsible.
But in unfortunate fact, we’re all pretty vulnerable. Snatching a child off the street isn’t difficult, and grabbing a child out of a bedroom not much more so.
Too bad she didn’t sleep with a Rottweiler in the room. One trained to wait till the guy was in the room before attacking.
I wondered about that.

Same here. And how guiltless is mom? Animals.

Pretty sure responsible parents would not do this:
On Saturday night, the mom had gone to bed with her boyfriend and left children ages 3, 4 and 8 watching television in the living room, which is next to the bedroom.
“Too bad she didnt sleep with a Rottweiler in the room. “
True, except as Chet99 reminds us daily, sometimes the dogs attack. . .
It is a scary world.
Well, I know many around here feel her behavior before the trauma to her daughter wouldn’t have won her mother of the year but I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t have chosen this course of life for her daughter. I was very naive and trusting as a young mother, and didn’t hold my children close enough at times. Maybe she had never seen any one behave any differently than she did. The school of life is expensive. In life, the cost of the lesson learned is heart-wrenching. No refunds available. I hope she is taking notes and learning through all of this.
new report of arrest in post 36.
You are a lot kinder than I am, apparently.
As a woman who raised 4 children, I can’t cut her any slack; a) She’s sleeping with a boyfriend. (Where’s the husband?) b) She had young children up an incredibly late hour and left them to their own devices.
I hear you.
I had four of my own.
And I believe she will bear the heavy weight of not acting responsibly forever.
In all the conversation, I’ve not heard reference to a(the)dad.
