LAS VEGAS - A 24-year-old Arab American from Michigan beat out 50 other women to take the 2010 Miss USA title Sunday night, despite stumbling in her evening gown.
Rima Fakih of Dearborn, Mich., won the pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip after strutting confidently in an orange and gold bikini, wearing a strapless white gown that resembled a wedding dress and saying health insurance should cover birth control pills.
When asked how she felt about winning the crown, she said, "Ask me after I've had a pizza."
"During the interview portion, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance. "I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it's a controlled substance," Fakih said."

So, this was PROFILING at it’s finest.
We have family and friends who honor more than one religion in their homes. I just thought it was interesting that I hadn’t seen that reported anywhere else.
Miss Oklahoma is waaaaaaaaaay OK!!! She should have won.
I was rootin’ for Miss Maine. My goodness gosh she’s tall.
Let’s get a list of judges and check out their political persuasion.
“who honor more than one religion in their homes”
which religions? Islam denies the deity of Jesus Christ. And there are thousand other extremely important things. If someone claims to “honor” both, they are a liar, or an insane person.
I didn’t say practice. I said honor, and I meant as in respect.
Here is a list of the judges photos of the same -

Are we surprised!
I can see in a few years, the Miss America/USA/Etc.. will have a Burka competition.
The questions were clearly political nonsense and didn't sway me either way.
I wouldn't turn down the other 4 girls and might even prefer them from photos, but she had something special about her presence and personality.
What if I had I known she was Arab before I started watching? It would be interesting to know but I'll never find out.
wow, now arabs are a more pandered to minority than blacks?
ANYONE WANNA BET she’s a guess of the White Hut within a month?
I don’t know if being a muslim helped her-Eric Holder
there’s not a lot Stedman knows period
That was my thought exactly. Will her family stone her in shame now if she gets raped by a family member who sees the racy pictures?
One was Oscar Nunez, the "token hispanic" on that tv show "The Office". During the interview, he asked his own questrion to Miss OK, and it was about whether she thought AZ's new immigration law was fair. Some in the audience started booing him before he got halfway through the question.
Another judge was figure skater Johnny Weir - as gay as the day is long, and he thrives on attention and controsversy. 'Nuff said.
