When the hard left was out of power they where very concerned about the constitution.

The Left is only concerned with how to misread and misuse the Constitution. They were never interested in its intent. They were/are only interested in twisting its language into a pretzel in order to further their goals - total power over everything.

One of their strategies, though, which may speak to your point, is to hold their opponents, us, to the strictest letter of the law and to the strictest interpretation of our professed values and the Constitution. Simultaneously, they hold themselves to no rules at all. In fact, they honor and encourage lying and deceit to achieve their goals. They say a traitor to the U.S. will be a hero to the revolution when they win. Sort of like the 72 virgins for the Muslim martyrs.

Bottom line - we must be sitting ducks while they slaughter us. Fighting back is unfair. That is what political correctness is all about.
