Um, what about the ‘73 455-SD T/A
I was kinda partial to my 70’ Formula 400 RA III
I think you style of Bonneville was made from 1992 to like 2008. With little to no changes.
That kind of brain-dead thinking is one of the many reasons Pontiac is gone.
Deservedly so.
Not necessarily but you point is well taken. My guess is that your Fiero, had you decided to buy it, would have been in the shop for repairs at the point in time when you Integra was totaled.
It was a great family car, probably the most comfortable driving seat my bottom has had the pleasure to meet. Pretty spunky 6 cylinder engine and about 26 mpg on the highway.
I really like it but I’m not aware that it was a particulary popular car.
Wasn’t that the Pontiac version of the Chevette?
lolol
My brother owned a Chevette for 20 years. He only went through 3 engines.
My first car was a turqouise, convertible ‘65 GTO! Bought it in June of ‘76 for $450! Transmission failed in Dec ‘76. I still loved that car though!
1970 Firebird 400 rag-top.
I can’t quite understand what you are saying but the model had a complete overhaul after I bought mine. Completely different car. Smaller and definately, IMO on the ugly side.
The mid 2000’s “Aussie” GTO is a much nicer car than its reputation and really should be on this list, instead of the ‘70’s behemoth Trans AM and, for cryinoutloud, the Fiero.
Sorry, meant 68 FB 400. I’m getting old....
Those are two of the greatest, esp. the top one, which is THE greatest.
No mention of KITT on the entire thread? For shame!
From what I remember from the articles in the 80s, the Fiero was first designed as an econobox commuter car that would be easy to repair from collisions due to bolt-on plastic body panels.
Somewhere in the middle of the project they decided to make it a sports car, but didn’t change some of the basic things about the project needed to make it a decent sports car.
And what about the 1963 421 “swiss cheese” Super Duty Catalina.
Except for the hard top and color, that’s the car! Sharp!
“Wasnt that the Pontiac version of the Chevette?”
Yeah, Buddy it sure was! I could change the rubberband in one of those heaps in about 20 minutes. I had enough practice!
Had more than a few of those things with the dreaded “low engine knock” right off of the transport, too. We would just rev the engine until it blew/seized rather than pull the engine and repair it.
Those UAW turds sure could ship out some crap.
The Fiero wasn’t any better, either.
Whoever put that list together sure is not a gearhead.

It was a beast to drive. The gear box was like shifting a Mack truck. Cool to look at though.
Then again I owned my stickshift Chevette for eight years, put 120,000 miles on it, and only got rid of it because I was T-boned in a parking lot by a speeding drunk. I really liked that little car.
