Wasn’t it Paul that predicted the end of time about 2,000 years ago? That aside, it sure does not look good out in the world. It is not hard to imagine civilization as we know it coming completely undone in the coming few years.

My parents were not very religious (actually, my Mother was very anti-). Back in the 70's, my father knew a fellow at work who was sure the world was ending: Jesus was coming! So the guy took out loans and mortgages he couldn't pay back -- because he wouldn't have to -- Jesus was coming!

My parents laughed about that a lot. I don't know what happened to the guy. I think that maybe he hadn't really nailed down the whole Christian lifestyle thing.

Personally, I'm not taking out any loans, and I'm trying to be as personally responsible as ever. But I think I understand how that guy felt -- I'm pretty sure that the day is coming soon. I hope so. I'm ready.

I have been wondering too. Many strange dreams. Dreamed last night that my wife and I were stuck in some strange building, a plane was about to leave, and some gate keeper wrangled us some tickets to get on the last plane out. I did start reading Revelation again last night, and have been reading Billy Graham's “Storm Warning”. Probably just dinner.

“2012” is a bunch of superstitious hokum.

It is possible we are nearing the end. It is also possible we won’t near the end for another millenium. Live like He’s coming tomorrow ... plan like He’s not coming in your lifetime.

I agree. Actually, I think a lot rests with the events of 1948 and Israel and related stuff (discovery of the dead sea scrolls, etc. and the 70th week of Daniel and “This generation shall not pass away until all these things take place. And in the Bible a generation is 70 years.

That gives us until roughly 2018.

Key word: Roughly. After all, nobody knows the day or the time, but we are to recognize the season.

I would, but only because I am a mid-tribulationist.

I’ve told friends that either Obama is a piker and going down hard - or he really is the anti-Christ and he will be unstoppable.

I believe he is the former though.

When I look at how technology is being used to track and control people and also notice that the technology is expanding exponentially, it is not hard to see that in five to ten years there will be no personal freedom whatsoever.

The UK is already talking about catching and ticketing speeders via satellite. Carry the concept forward.
