...Internet music services like Pandora, Slacker and Last.fm, already popular with computer and smartphone owners, are being tailored by software developers, consumer electronics companies and even automakers to work more seamlessly with car stereo systems...
...These handsets all have free applications that play customized music channels streamed over the Internet using the phones 3G wireless data connection. The services are generally free, although smartphone owners typically pay about $30 a month on top of regular voice service for unlimited data usage.
The attraction is that rather than being shackled to the same old hits from local radio stations, listeners can customize the music channel to suit their tastes. Pandora has about 750,000 songs and 40 million listeners...
...During a test drive when I became irritated by a Beyonce song, I simply pushed a voice button on the side of the Pioneer display and told the system to play the Doors. Within a couple of seconds, the unit began to play songs from the Soft Parade album. The sound quality, while not equivalent to a CD, was as good as typical radio reception and better than some satellite radio stations. And when a call came in, the built-in Bluetooth hands-free system automatically muted the music.
I did discover some limitations, however. AT&Ts 3G wireless service is notoriously patchy in New York City, so there were occasional dead spots when the music dropped out as the cellphone searched for a signal...
However, such limitations may soon disappear as automakers integrate streaming Internet services directly into their cars...
Of course, traditional radio broadcasters have heard the drumbeat of mobile apps. They have responded with their own apps, streaming live broadcasts from thousands of stations to handsets and through them, to cars...

Outlaw Country on Sirius/XM will cover most of those. Hank Williams will show up more on the Roadhouse or Willie's Place.
In any event, you ought to look into satellite radio. The old XM was a lot better before the merger, but there is still good music and one or two OK deejays.
I love the classics (Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams) as well as Texas music and Americana of more recent vintage, but I won't find any of it on the radio these days. On the Internet - it's readily available (Pandora, for example). There there is ITunes, and the newsgroups... and my car radio stays on AM full time these days - except when I plug in my iPod.
That’s what Sirius-XM 40’s on 4 is for! :)
Sure I can.
you have no understanding of the instrumentalism that has often been present in country music.
Sure I do.
"Music" that promotes illiteracy, incest, inbreeding and beastiality isn't something I'd care to listen to.
Maybe you like it.. not me.
Dude. You’re being an ass. Nothing in country promotes illiteracy, incest, inbreeding or bestiality, and you probably know that. And hey let’s point out how funny it is that the guy accusing a genre of music of promoting illiteracy spelled bestiality wrong.
I really liked XM’s America, along with their DJs. I cam very close to dropping satellite radio after the merger, but I switched over to Outlaw Country and found that I could tolerate it fairly well, and it’s still way better than the stuff on the radio. So I still buy it. But I do miss Country Dan and Ray Knight and the old guys at XM.
My experience with XM was that the sound quality was lousy due to the high compression they use. Significantly worse sound than FM in my humble opinion.
Uh, no.. that was you.
You wrote "bestiality".
It has an "A" in it.
Country sucks.
I see the spelling can be either way.
Those who think it is “best” spell it without tha “A”.
Nope it’s you, there is no A:

Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it promotes that long list you put forth. It might even suck, but that list of yours is just you being an ass.
Sorry bub, it’s not either way:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/beastiality
It has an "A" in it.
There is no "A." The porn sites spell it that way because they are either ignorant themselves or figure the people who search for it are too ignorant to spell it correctly.
Sorry, Websters says no:

Country music promotes sleeping either with pigs or one’s sister.
True story.
I thought it already had.
