DAYTON, Ohio -- A pit bull bit and injured a woman in the back yard of her Fernwood Avenue home on Monday after several dogs started fighting.
The incident occurred around noon at 129 Fernwood Ave. as the woman was trying to call her two pit bulls inside her home, according to Sgt. Bill Keller. The woman, who is believed to be at least 40, was trying to get her dogs inside because she noticed two other pit bulls had entered her yard. "At this time one of the strange pit bulls that wasn't supposed to be in her yard bit her on both arms fairly severely," Keller said. "She then called police," Keller said.
While the woman was inside, the dogs continued to fight outside. When police arrived they noticed that the woman had puncture wounds and blood on her arms.
Animal Resource Center officers were called to the scene. They rounded up all the dogs, who were covered in blood, after using pepper spray on at least one of the dogs, Keller said. The woman's dogs, both of which were injured, were taken for safe- keeping.
The woman told police she believed the other two dogs belong to someone in the neighborhood, but police had not identified the owner as of 1:30 p.m., according to Keller.
"There will be an investigation done to find out what charges are most appropriate," Keller said.
OMG...he’s really PeeWee Herman!
“I know you are but what am I?”
[hey Markos...have we reached the “kicking cripples” stage, yet?]
Can’t stand the heat?
Uh...”laughs” aren’t really what he’s “getting”.
[I think “ya yas” is the popular phrase]
If you “anti-pit” folks are “laughing” so much, why are *your* posts so desperate, vicious, histrionic and repetitive?
If that’s what passes for “laughs” in your world....bummer.
“YA YAS”? THAT’S THE SECRET WORD OF THE DAY!
Again, let me know when you need help figuring it out.
I ~love~ the fire....you might even say it's my "element"....:)
[and I do so enjoy sharing my revelry with friends]
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, good. Have fun with that.
You can’t manage a coherent reply and ~I~ should rely on you to inform *me* of anything?
Shirley, you’re just not keeping up.
You’re right.
There’s no sport with this one.
Cut the line.
Vicious, huh? Like the tearing off of the 6th month old’s testicles? Or, perhaps, the need of a pit bull victim to have multiple operations in order to attempt to rebuild parts of their body? Or, maybe even the cases where a pit bull has killed another person’s pet or even a human. The comments from people who see this dog for what they are are that vicious?
You are unable to manage any evidence that disputes the articles posted by Chet and you want to question my ability to manage a coherent reply. See what I mean by laughs?
How can you say that when they already have been in many places! When I think about all the things that were perfectly legal when I was a kid that are now criminal acts, I'd have to say it is likely, and indeed they've already been banned in certain places. The government at all levels has an insatiable appetite for control of people's lives, activities and property. It NEVER gets smaller, and they will always want to encroach a little bit more.
Personally, I find pitbulls far less dangerous than self-righteous bureaucrats, code enforcement officers and nannystaters of any stripe.
We’ve had better fun...when we had better opposition.
Keep trying - you might reach it yet.
I stand by that statement. There will not be a total breed ban on pits or any other breed in the whole of the U.S. anytime soon. There could be bans put into place on a small scale, but you won’t see it for the entire country. So, if the area you live in does manage to ban the breed, move.
We have posted so much evidence to the contrary that it’s become nearly encyclopedic.
You will hang onto your blind prejudice just as fiercely and vainly as you hang onto your ancestor’s coat tails.
