But not so fast. When local state and federal gubmint is finished it'll be a 2 pound nugget. The above before and after photos will do.
The story continues three months later:
Terry Mohr: "Well, when I started to file the paper work with the government agencies I had a NINE pound nugget of gold." (see first picture of 9 lb. nugget)
"Then as the process went on, THIS is all the government left me with!!! (see second photo of him holding the 2 oz. nugget.)

Never give up, if you get a chance to hunt for gold, the next step could be on a big one.

Something does not pass the smell test here. Could Jim Sanders be a huckster wanting to get investors and then leaving them high and dry?
The notion of a find that large is the quintessential “American dream.” OTOH, as you say, the government and enviro-weenies will turn his dream a nightmare. Not to mention the money necessary to scale the permit hurdles.

I doubt the story, and the pic.

Yeah. I see a perfect con about to unfold. The mark(s) will do all the work (sell themselves) and pay dearly for it.

My thinking parallels yours. I could only find the one photo (above) on the net.

I don't like being pessimistic but, like you, I am.

I don’t know much about metals in their natural state but the big one looks like it was pieces of gold melted together.

If I get a mining operation going, we'd have an industry here.I would wait until Obama is long out of office. See, he dont like mining. And even if he did allow it, he would take by force most or all of the gold.

For security reasons, Sanders and The Union agreed to not divulge the exact location of his land. In addition, he asked that photos for this story did not show his face. Good luck with that, Mr. Sanders.

LOL. Has anyone looked up his facebook account yet? LOL

The only thing in the photo for size indication is what appears to be a tape measure. It could have easily been added with photoshop. (I did not examine the photo)
His statement:
If I get a mining operation going, we’d have an industry here.
That statement makes me suspicious he is mining something other than gold. There have always been mining scams.
