Fla. researcher bitten while measuring sharks

MIAMI (AP) -- Florida International University officials say one of their researchers was bitten in the elbow while measuring sharks for research on their ecological impact in the coastal Everglades. Mike Heithaus, director of FIU's School of Environment and Society, says marine biologist Kirk Gastrich was bit by a six-foot lemon shark near the mouth of Shark River on Wednesday.

Great Pics! I’ve never seen that shape of head on a shark before...where is this “lemon” shark found? Where was the bottom pic taken - what a great shot.

Damn. You’d kinda think after a couple hundred years of catching them, that they would have a fairly good idea of how big they are. But if some fool wants to jump in the pool with a tape measure, hey, whatever turns ya on!

Joe, it is lots of fun to have big bad ass boys come around here.
My son and I have taken a few of these scuba diving.
These bad asses become little paranoids when even nurse sharks show up.
Too funny.

They have a couple of lemons in the tank at Disney, I dove with them for about 45 minutes, they ignored us.
They aren’t aggressive like other sharks , but I wouldn’t put any part of my body near it’s mouth while one is feeding.
