Unresponsive here, not sure if broken or just too much traffic.
Happens all to often, but I was on it 6 hours ago without problem.

Well both the website and (more surprisingly) the call center have been down for the last hour or so. I was on it and started seeing strange things occur - account balances started suddenly disappearing, with the account status being shown as unavailable and then the accounts themselves disappeared. Looks like some sort of major systems failure.
Servers seem to be back up now.
I notice that the NIKKEI is plunging tonight. Maybe they’re just getting heavy traffic with people trying to save a pantload.

the president has decided that the entire democratic process tedious and inefficient. “the financial system was broken”, he declared. “we just enacted urgent unprecedented reform without playing all the washington games . . . like congress voting on stuff”.

Just checked my account...unfortunately (I bet against the dollar before I had any clue that the geeks would go south).
Keep in mind that if the site does go down, particularly at this hour when a LOT of people are checking their accounts, but relatively few people are available to take calls...their call center will, of course, get overloaded.
It was on the list of ten companies that would fail this year .... Motorola was another one ...
I don’t know but world markets are falling significantly. Nikkei (Japan) is down 276 right now and, Hang Seng (Hong Kong) down 314.

Finally got through to Etrade call center - they admit that they are having “an issue” regarding Etrade Bank and Etrade Global. No estimated time of resolution...
Do I need to ask the most relevant question?????
