A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical explorers said Monday they believe they may have found Noah's Ark -- 4000m up a mountain in Turkey.
The team say they recovered wooden specimens from a structure on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey that carbon dating proved was 4800 years old, around the same time the ark is said to have been afloat.
"It's not 100 percent that it is Noah's Ark but we think it is 99.9 percent that this is it," Yeung Wing-cheung, a Hong Kong documentary filmmaker and member of the 15-strong team from Noah's Ark Ministries International told AFP.
The structure had several compartments, some with wooden beams, which were believed to house animals, he said.
The group of evangelical archaeologists ruled out an established human settlement on the grounds that one had never been found above 3500 metres in the vicinity, Yeung said.

If it were truly Noah's Ark, then I'd say the water went wherever God wanted it.
Hell, I thought I saw Leonard Nimoy on TV telling me this back in the 1970s
Why is it that no one ever includes pictures? BTW...that area has always been considered to be a likely spot. Wood has been discovered there before but the weather is so harsh that the site continually gets buried by snow or noone can get up there. I read a few years ago that Turkey banned people from exploring the area. It wouldn’t be surprising if they do so again.
Good pun.
Yes, there are entirely too many sites, and far too much ancient wood for it to have come from a single craft. What I keep returning to is the question of, what are all of those immense beams of ancient wood doing so far up that mountain?
From the photos and archaeological drawings I've seen, they're definitely not buildings, but they are in some sort of purpose-built layout, such as a large water vessel.
Nothing makes more sense to me, than the theory that they must have come to rest there when the water level was at that altitude. It's all very intriguing.
Heyup.
Evaporation due to global warming? LOL
I'm only half joking about that. I wonder where sea level would rise to if all of the ice melted at both poles?
Could humans survive the sort of sustained temperatures that could cause such a melt? Hmm...doubt it.
Ok, so if the sea couldn't rise 12,000 feet - even if only temporarily, then how did those boats (if that's what they are) get up there?
Tidal wave?
Perhaps sea levels were already much higher then, than they are today, and something caused them to temporarily rise to where those artifacts now rest.
Since the Bible states that the waters receded, it is fair to ask to where. I mean no disrespect, but 12,000 feet of water over the entire globe is more water than what is currently in the oceans. It had to go somewhere. Maybe the Lord has a tremendous water park, but I’d doubt he’d need our water.
The water wouldn't have to cover the entire globe to 12,000 feet above current sea level. It could have come as a tsunami, then subsided.
MY BS METER READS %100 ON THIS ARK STORY. JUST LIKE ALL THE REST OF THEM PURE BS.
I don’t believe there actually ever was a real ark .
Oh good, it’s been found again.
In the 70’s some guy came to our church, telling us a fantastic story about seeing the arc.
Unfortunately his camera and film were confiscated by the government.(Don’t remember which).
It was a Welsh lie not an Irish lie.
Maybe an ancient nursing home?
There are pictures, for those who do not mind “wading” through a little Chinese:

Also, the assumption that the many “close encounters” represent too much material for a single craft is built on an assumption of maximum possible craft size. If that assumption is wrong, a single large craft could account for all the specimens thus far found and more. Just sayin
As for theological considerations, the ark is a unique signpost in Biblical history. One would not expect God to run that show multiple times because he promised he would only do it once with water.
Furthermore, this would be an interesting time for us to discover the ark. God flooded the earth once in judgment of human sin, then revealed it through Peter to be a prototype of the final judgment. One object lesson. One final judgment. If it turns out to be a credible find, what might God be telling us?
I’ve often wondered about the parched conditions on Mars. Could our oceans be evaporating into outer space? If so... was it Bush’s fault???? /sac/
They should check to see if anyone stamped “Made in China” on the thing...
This is a photo of the press conference. Yeah. That looks legit.
The biblical story says God decided to flood the earth after seeing how corrupt it had become,
If this was/is true then why have we not seen it since? The world is hundreds of times more corrupt today than at anytime in history.
I’m calling BS... just another fairy tale...
TMMT,
Respectfully submitted: Corruption? Plenty back then...perhaps more so. Why no more floods? Reference the significance of the Rainbow in your Bible. Fairy tale? Every knee will bow....no exception.
Hmmm— we have the Bible account, the Gilgamesh account, —I would wild guess that probably every city in the Elam to Susa to Mari district built a ship to evacuate from the city to escape the flood. Everyone saw Noah building a huge vessel that couldn`t be hidden in a back yard. So I would venture that the jig was up and everyone copied Noah, just as every 1950`s small town in US had at least one crazy guy building a bomb shelter because of the Russian nuclear threat by Bear bombers. I built one too, in 1957, only one in town-ha!
