Not likely, since the engine in the picture is a 4, not a V8.
In 1985 I got ticketed drag racing a Chevette down in Arlington that somone had crammed a small block into (they had to move the firewall).
The cops wanted to see the engine, so I got to see under the hood. They kept the body looking kind of rust bucket-ish so no one would suspect...
The consensus is that the writer meant v6 however...
