I would urge everyone to have their vit. D levels checked. Most American’s are lacking. Low vit. D has been linked to many cancers. Breast cancer, prostrate cancer, pancreatic cancer and skin cancers just to name a few.

Of course, there was a recent article (posted on FR, but I don’t have the link) about a study showing high levels of Vit. D caused calcium deposits in the arteries, leading to heart disease. Who knows what to do with all the conflicting scientific studies?
For myself, I take 400 IU daily & I try to get a little sun each day (when there is any!)

What happened to that thread about chitosan? Was it yanked? Was spinal injury in the title?

Beginning in November I upped my D3 dose from 2,000 to 4,000 units per day.(flu season)
In January, early on , I ceased riding my bike, too cold. By late March and warmer weather I resumed riding my bike. After several days on the flat, I attempted the hills. Couldn’t make it up the hills for the first time ever.
Vitamin D does not promote strength. Repeated exercise promotes strength. I’ll try again in a week or so

I was pretty sure I was getting enough D and had the test done ... shocked I learned I was on the very low end of normal. Surprised my doctor too. I spend at least 20 minutes outside in the sunlight daily, not enough. So now I take D3 daily. My mother was recently tested and discovered she too was very low. She get daily sunlight too. I too urge everyone next time you get bloodwork to ask the doc to also test for ‘D’.
