Apparently NBC-Miami assumes its readership is very familiar with the slang street names for drugs — even obscure ones — and would read “whippet” and immediately think “nitrous oxide” rather “sleek little dogs”.

This is really a very sad story. I wonder if we’ve become too numb as a culture to recognize our own indifference to others.
What an extraordinary giving man this was, who lost his life!
