Ancient Aliens - Premieres Tuesday April 20 at 8/7c (History Channel)
History Channel ^ | (Unknown )

Posted on 04/18/2010 3:03:57 AM PDT by Las Vegas Dave

From the History Channel link:

According to ancient alien theorists, extraterrestrials with superior knowledge of science and engineering landed on Earth thousands of years ago, sharing their expertise with early civilizations and forever changing the course of human history. But how did this concept develop, and is there any evidence to support it?

Ancient alien theory grew out of the centuries-old idea that life exists on other planets, and that humans and extraterrestrials have crossed paths before. The theme of human-alien interaction was thrust into the spotlight in the 1960s, driven by a wave of UFO sightings and popular films like 2001: A Space Odyssey. The space program played no small part in this as well: If mankind could travel to other planets, why couldn’t extraterrestrials visit Earth?

In 1968, the Swiss author Erich von Däniken published Chariots of the Gods?, which became an immediate bestseller. In it, he put forth his hypothesis that, thousands of years ago, space travelers from other planets visited Earth, where they taught humans about technology and influenced ancient religions. He is regarded by many as the father of ancient alien theory, also known as the ancient astronaut theory.

Most ancient alien theorists, including von Däniken, point to two types of evidence to support their ideas. The first is ancient religious texts in which humans witness and interact with gods or other heavenly beings who descend from the sky—sometimes in vehicles resembling spaceships—and possess spectacular powers. The second is physical specimens such as artwork depicting alien-like figures and ancient architectural marvels like Stonehenge and the pyramids of Egypt.

If aliens visited Earth in the past, could they make an appearance in the future? For ancient alien theorists, the answer is a resounding yes. They believe that, by sharing their views with the world, they can help prepare future generations for the inevitable encounter that awaits them.

EPISODE 1 - The Evidence

Premiere Date: 04/20/2010

If ancient aliens visited Earth, what was their legacy, and did they leave behind clues that exist in plain sight such as sophisticated aircraft, complex electrical grids, and intricate construction machinery? Indian Sanskrit texts, dating back to 6000 B.C., describe in varying but vivid detail flying machines called Vimanas. Megalithic stone structures in Egypt reveal evidence of precision saw work. Interpretations of the Jewish Zohar writings offer depictions of a life-sustaining manna machine, eerily similar to chlorella algae processing systems today. Are these examples of modern technology, or is there evidence that these incredible mechanisms existed on Earth thousands of years ago?

EPISODE 2 - The Mission

Premiere Date: 04/27/2010

If ancient aliens visited Earth, what was their mission, and is there evidence that points to when they will return? Ancient Sumerian tablets describe an alien race, known as the Anunnaki, who came to Earth to mine for gold. Egyptian hieroglyphs depict hybrid creatures that were part man, part animal. Mysterious crop circles and unexplainable crystal skulls are thought to contain messages that man has yet to decipher. Strange evidence may exist in multiple cultures throughout history suggesting that aliens came here to explore, excavate raw materials, experiment on human beings, and even for pure conquest.

EPISODE 3 - The Visitors

Premiere Date: 04/27/2010

If ancient aliens visited Earth, who were they, and where did they come from? Possible historic evidence and beliefs are examined around the world. The Dogon people possess knowledge of a galaxy they claim was given to them by a star god named Amma. The Hopi and Zuni people celebrate Kachinas, gods from the sky, whose headdresses and costumes appear to resemble modern helmets and protective clothing. Halfway around the world, Chinese legends tell of the Han leader, Huangdi, arriving on Earth on a flying, yellow dragon. Was this dragon more likely a spacecraft? Ancient astronaut theorists believe that these are far from chance encounters and that extraterrestrials not only interacted with us, but changed the course of human history.

EPISODE 4 - Chariots, Gods & Beyond

Premiere Date: 03/08/2009 (repeated from 2009-LVD)

What if life on Earth began in outer space? Millions of people accept the theory that intelligent life forms visited Earth thousands of years ago and were worshiped as gods by primitive man. Are monuments like Stonehenge and Easter Island the last remains of an ancient alien visitation? From unexplainable super structures, to knowledge of the solar system, mathematics, and even the ability to make electricity, this special explores evidence of super-human influences on ancient man and embarks on an around-the-world search for answers. It's an investigation into a theory some believe cannot be true, but many agree cannot be ignored.

THANKS MUCH for your kind reply.

THAT’S A GREAT COLLECTION OF QUOTES!

Have copied it to a Word file. May I use it from time to time? Any one source or your own collection from many sources?

Is it toooo risky for you to comment on a guesstimate of how many . . . colleagues you personally knew who were/are certain or relatively certain of the sorts of facts your quotes discussed?

Such as say . . . a half dozen

a dozen

several dozen

several hundred

Oh, re Quix

You may be unaware, when I was allowed back in the fold . . . I was still in Taipei and a number of my students would volunteer from time to time that I was

“The most chilvarous” person they’d ever met or known.

I was looking for a screen name that was short, very unique and easy to remember.

I also wanted one that had SOMETHING to do with my personality, my nature and/or habits.

I also have long liked the Don Quixote story.

So that settled it.

Thanks for your comment.

Naysayers on these sorts of threads have often posted a pic of the cereal box as a personally assaultive diatribe. Though some post it in good humor and friendliness.

My own collection from many sources. Personally, probably a dozen or two. Information from classified sources? Hundreds, at least, including yours truly. My half-brother has had several sightings and more. Oh, and another thing: If you see a “futuristic” weapon or technology in a movie or TV show, we’ve already had it for decades.

The *real* problem is, the pyramids were tombs (despite a kind of weird denial of that fact), but were plundered; the outside of the Great Pyramid was once covered in smooth limestone some of the surface of which had been carved in hieroglyphic writing as noted by classical authors. It was plundered at least once in pharaonic times (probably as early as the 5th Dynasty), open as a tourist attraction in Greek and Roman times in Egypt, resealed late in Roman times (perhaps by the Byzantines), chipped open by the Muzzies during the Middle Ages, and yet, after all that misuse, a bit of the painted plaster remained on the interior walls; one of the early Egyptologists (sometime after Champollion's decipherment) found a reference to such-and-such a year of the cattle drive, the date of some lost event from Khufu's reign.

That second title was a bit interesting, although the author's (quoted?) list of unexplained anomalies in human physiogamy were at least in part imaginary. :')

I'll match and raise your nanoo nanoo

by a

Klaatu departing speech excerpt:

There must be security for all--or

no one is secure . . . This does not
mean giving up any freedom except
the freedom to act irresponsibly.

Your ancestors knew this when they
made laws to govern themselves--
and hired policemen to enforce them.

We of the other planets have long
accepted this prinicple. We have an
organization for the mutual protection
of all planets--and for the complete
elimination of aggression. A sort of
United Nations on the Planetary level . . .
The test of any such higher
authority, of course, is the police
force that supports it. For our
policemen, we created a race of robots--

Their function is to patrol
the planets--in space ships like this one--
and preserve the peace.
In matters of aggression we have
given them absolute power over us.

At the first sign of violence they
act automatically against the aggressor,
And the penalty for provoking their action
is too terrible to risk.

The result is that we live in peace,
without arms or armies, secure in
the knowledge that we are free from
aggression and war--free to pursue
more profitable enterprises.

We do not pretend to have achieved perfection--
but we do have a system--
and it works.

I came here to give you the facts.
It is no concern of ours how you run your own planet--
but if you threaten
to extend your violence,
this Earth of yours will be reduced to a
burned-out cinder.

Your choice is simple. Join us
and live in peace.
Or pursue your present course--
and face obliteration.
We will be waiting for your answer.
The decision rests with you.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

So spoke the globalist oligarchy in the first THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL in the character of KLAATU.

Some think they are getting near ready to present such a stark choice with more emphasis in the not too distant future.

Certainly that's the purported wording of part of their globalist Ten Commandments on the GEORGIA GUIDESTONES . . . that individual regions can govern themselves as they wish provided . . .

Of course, the devil is literally in the details.

Having satan's fallen third of the angels aiding and abetting must be pretty heady stuff.

THANKS TONS.

THAT EMPHATICALLY [to my mind] confirms what another source 40 years ago . . . actually two . . . one my relative . . . as well as the retiring head of Lockeed Skunkworks said at his retirement speech:

IF YOU CAN IMAGINE IT, WE CAN ALREADY DO IT.

Gad’s I’d love to pick your brain . . . just of your more or less unclass inferences and conjectures.

Perhaps you could guesstimate for me:

How long do you speculate before the globalists and the critters move more overtly to ram the global government down our throats?

Given that lots of whistle blowers have said that the critters chronically

LIE, LIE, LIE

WHY do any of the powers that be believe them so thoroughly about history, cosmology etc????

The assumption you make in your final paragraph is correct. Rather than surrendering to belief in wild and unsupported assertions, please research the facts — really, why should I do your research for you? — which prove the falsity the claims made about the significance to Orion’s Belt in the original construction alignment of the pyramids. By way of one example, the claim that the three stars of Orion’s Belt align with, and correspond to, the alignment and positioning of three of the pyramids is untrue — the so-called alignment is 180 degrees out of phase, and when the image is ‘flipped’ to be in phase, the positions of those three stars and the three relevant pyramids do not, in fact, align. The other claims anent Giza and Orion have been similarly shown to be, simply, untrue. Once you’ve reviewed the evidence (facts, mind, not assertions by believers who themselves have not ascertained the facts), and discovered that the so-called Orion orientation at Giza is a myth, let’s re-open the discussion.

BTW, I once ‘believed’ the Giza/Orion connection, in the sense that I read about it when it was first bruited about 15 years ago, thought it an interesting factoid, and thought no more about it, content to accept what appeared to be factual. However, in casual conversation with a friend about the topic, it became apparent that there were anomalies and inconsistencies. Curious, I researched the sources of the claims, and the ‘data’ on which they were claimed to have been based, and discovered, with little necessary digging, that it was a steaming pile of internet-fueled excreta. That ‘timtouse’ site is a prime example of the sorts of sites, all too prevalent, that publish many, many false assertions with no attempt to check if they are, in fact, true. For many people, there seems to be too much trust, too little verify.

You’ve researched it far more than I.

Certainly such sources could easily have jiggled the data.

No problem believing your research.

Then one might wonder . . . what interest would the oligarchy have in foisting the jiggled data on the world?

Hmmmmmm . . . interesting possibilities.

Thanks.

They need to disarm the population or be able to keep tabs on us 24/7/365. If you have a cell phone they can do the latter now. If you can put your hands on a CB radio (truck stop, thrift store or electronics repair shop) that’d be helpful. Have you seen this?

Yes.

thanks.

I believe that folks should do all such they feel led to do.

Gumming up satan’s works is . . . imho . . . a good thing, by definition.

However, I believe that God and His angelic army forces will do such evil characters the most damage . . . that we can have the most powerful impact on such, mysteriously, through fasting and prayer.

However, all such prep as with the CB etc is worth doing, imho.

I just think we fall prey to the enemy to assume that any human methods are going to withstand the enemy much for very long.

I firmly believe that the Scripture:

NOT BY MIGHT,
NOT BY POWER,
BUT BY MY SPIRIT says The Lord [of the Angel Armies]

will be proven abundantly true in coming months.
