Since this is Algore’s planet anyway, I think Fat Al should pay the Cap’n Tax for all of the crap his planet is spewing into the atomosphere. And while he’s at it, he should pay for all of the yellow snow that his polar bears are making.

And where will the volcano go to get it’s carbon credits. Who will calculate what it owes mother earth for it’s pollution. Can volcanoes apply for wealth-fare payments?

I find great sympathy for the people of Europe, being shown how nature works, and how puny they really are to do anything about it.

Last time this particular volcano went off it belched for two years ...

And next week we puny humans debate the taxes we will have to pay government, so government scientists can pretend they control the weather.

Belch baby belch, belch on and on.

Hey I wish them no harm in Europe but if this is what it takes then this is what it takes.

I think I remember the Union of Scientists with Big Brains or something like that saying the volcano wasn’t going to stop global warming. Which if you think about it, may actually be true. Because there IS no warming to begin with, so it’s a logical impossibility to stop something that isn’t happening.

I would be curious as to how many tons (tonnes, if you live in East Anglica) of CO2 are being spewed forth from the volcano. Of course all they’ll say is that the volcano is Bush’s fault.

I think you’re mistaken about how much CO2 has been released. I read somewhere (can’t ind it now) that it’s not that huge and this is a false talking point. Do you have a reference?

This eruption could release more greenhouse gasses than the whole industrial revolution.

even if volcanoes do not produced near the CO2 that is produced by man....

..one mega eruption will produce enough particulates that will block the sun to the point that our pathetic attempt at ‘gorebull warming’ will be so overwhelmed by the cooling forces of the particulates so as to cause a mini ice age...so it behoves us to pump as much CO2 into the air as we possibly can.

The Volcano in Iceland has already spewed out more CO2 than all our human devised cars and industry ever has in all our history.

Reference please.

Yes, a reference would be terrific!

I know this thing is going to affect weather patterns [and I fully expect that the AGW folks will attribute failure in their models to this catastrophe], but I'd really like to see a cite on the CO2 measurements you tout.

This would be a wonderful argument.

Look for a cold summer in the Northern Hemisphere this year.

With any luck we could put Al Gore on permanent ice observation duty at the North Pole.

I think we should all go outside this week and emit as much CO2 as possible to off set the global cooling effect from the volcanoes..

This volcano won't release more CO2 than all emissions from human activities; however, if it emits enough sulfur compounds, it may cause a very cool/cold summer, which would be indirect evidence that it takes a natural event to cause a climate change, not a merely human activity.

Iceland was nearly bankrupt already. Since they hold title to the volcano, should we not indenture all their offspring for the next 20 or so generations until their greenhouse gas/carbon tax is paid?

We’re makin’ money every hour this dude blows.

Is it too late to cede Hawaii to China to recoup some of the trade imbalance?

Drill, baby drill.

The carbon dioxide in that volcanic eruption has made global warming all but inevitable now, making it even more urgent to cut down on carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions. We’re going to have to outlaw soda and burping, and all farts, whether bovine or human, as well as fire and automobiles. Drastic times call for drastic measures.

What a load of BS. Do you gusy even do a check your facts or why bother lets just state some non-sense that some other dumb guy stated.
Its stupidity like this that just defeats the real cause and gets the real conservatives branded as extreme.
