It's insanity.

There is NO medical use for marijuana.

The part of marijuana that increases appetite, has been isolated and available for many years by prescription through a doctor. THAT is not what they want. They want the MIND ALTERING part of the drug. Wake up sheeple. Stop letting bleeding heat liberals EXPLOIT you. Use common sense, or a change.

Its not like their being prescribed a pill with the active ingrediant. Which is very possible.

Plus they are prescribing it to children for anything at all.

All you need is quack!

All you need is quack, quack, quack

Actually, marijuana can help combat nausea in cancer patients receiving chemo, and it reduces intraocular pressure associate with glaucoma, reducing the pain experienced by people with that affliction.

Marijuana certainly does have medicinal value that has been recognised by the medical community.

“There is NO medical use for marijuana.”

Yes there is. It helps my friend’s pain after losing both breasts and some lymph nodes to cancer. She was addicted to pain pills and needed to get off them. She is happier now, off oxycontin and harming no one.

Yeah, that’s why my post-liver-transplant wife, who’s been in the hospital 107 straight days with almost continuous nausea, was told by her doctor that he wished he could prescribe the “real thing” for her instead of Marinol because it was more effective. Of course, he’s just a top transplant surgeon at the largest medical center in the world...and no doubt a bleeding “heat” liberal with no common sense who’s out to EXPLOIT her.

They want the MIND ALTERING part of the drug.

Is that not true of coffee and alcohol as well? The fundamental political axiom I operate by is that I own myself!

Why is Peyote verboten for most people, but ok for Native Americans?

As a small gov't conservative, I apply the test of Occam's Razor to laws. If there is no reason for a law to be on the books, get rid of it!

Or would you prefer Mexican drug cartels taking over our National Parks, ringing them with machine gun-toting thugs and growing it, using the profits to foment more violence, here and in Mexico? Why not take a big bite out of their operations with legalization?

What moral zealotism drives so many to want to regulate everyone's state of mind?

Do you think CA has legitimate authority under the Tenth Amendment to tax and regulate marijuana? Or, do you think fedgov has legitimate authority under the Commerce Clause to shut down such a program?

If you ever smoked marijuana -- which I did several decades ago -- you'd really wonder what all the hoopla was about. It's about as "mind-altering" as a couple of glasses of wine, but without the lack of motor coordination. Although it can make you wicked hungry.

However, having said that, I would keep kids away from marijuana and all other "mind altering" substances, including alcohol, caffeine, and tobacco , until they are at least eighteen years old -- preferably 21. (Bribe them if you have to.) Studies show that if you can keep your kids from doing any of these substances until they are at lease 18, they are far less likely to become dependent on any mind-altering substance, ever. The reasons are physiological as well as psychological.

Many people do want the mind altering effect of the drug in much the same way you want an expected effect from Soma, Vicodin, etc, that have specific effects to the condition as well the mind and sometimes a person may require both.

No, I don’t touch the stuff. Just have friends who have used it for relief and these are people who I wouldn’t expect to use marijuana but, for their condition.

One friend will receive all her meals and nutrition through a pic line, intravenously for the rest of her life. Why? Cancer and the cure burned her insides so horribly her stomach was destroyed. She still suffers from the pain of the cure, has tried many “prescribed” solutions and found some helpful, with side effects that were intolerable and other prescribed solutions that did little or nothing to alleviate her symptoms.

Were it not for the cancer and the debilitating effects of the many cures she suffered as a result, she would not take a thing. Never even took an aspirin until her cancer.

I have probably a good 20 stories of friends with conditions we wouldn’t wish on anyone but they are alive and I say more power to them.
