Kitty Kelley's new book: Oprah has a diva snit in Washington antique store; "does not do stairs"
washingtonpost ^ | April 12, 2010

The image of Oprah as America's benevolent earth mother is about to take a serious hit, thanks to -- who else? -- biographer Kitty Kelley, whose book on the talk show queen comes out Tuesday.

"I was astounded that the woman who seems so open and uninhibited is really so choked by secrets," said Kelley, who interviewed more than 800 people and spent four years researching the book.

In a short excerpt obtained by the Reliable Source, Oprah comes off as a demanding diva unwilling to lift a finger -- or foot -- if she doesn't feel like it.

unwilling to lift a finger -- or foot

"Unwilling"...? Heck, can't, most likely. ;)

Since this is KItty Kelley 99.99% of her claims are lies. The only reason she has not been sued for libel and slander is it is next to impossible to win such a case if you are in the public eye.

“Kitty Kelley (born April 4, 1942) is an American investigative journalist and author of several best-selling unauthorized biographies of celebrities and politicians. Described as a “poison pen” biographer,[1][2] her profiles frequently contain unflattering personal anecdotes and details, and their accuracy is often questioned.[3][4] Though many of her books have topped the best sellers list, Kelley’s credibility and sources have been called into question multiple times.[5]

Time magazine reported that most journalists believe Kelley “too frequently fails to bring perspective or analysis to the fruits of her reporting and at times lards her work with dollops of questionable inferences and innuendos.”[6] In addition, Kelley has been described by Joe Klein as a “professional sensationalist”[7] and her books have been described as “Kitty litter.”[8]

Her past subjects have included Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Nancy Reagan, the British Royal Family, and the Bush family. Although Kelley has been criticized and her books hotly debated, she has never been successfully sued for libel and has never been forced to retract a written statement.”

So what? When you're a self-made billionaire you can get to the top floor any way you want.

Kitty Kelly is a bottom-feeder who makes a living smearing people she couldn't qualify to launder the dirty underpants of.

Sounds like Kitty was the basis for the “Rita Skeeter” character in the Harry Potter series.

And she can't be "sued" because she picks public figures who would have to prove "intentional malice" which is impossible, but all you have to know is Oliver Stone used her "book" on the Bush family as his source for "W.".

If you believe Nancy Reagan had an affair with Frank Sinatra while Ronnie was out of town...Kitty Kelly is for you.

I don’t know if this specific anecdote has any truth to it, but many years ago (before she was really famous—just locally well-known) my father worked with Oprah. He came home every night with tales of her gradiosity, arrogance, self-obsession, and foul temper. Even though he knew many arrogant Hollywood types and splendid actors, he was astonished that anyone could be such a perpetual actor and put on a constant public performance of gracious warmth and charm while instantly turning to vicious displays vindictive temper.

Reminds me of that Andy Griffith character Lonesome Rhoades in the movie A Face In The Crowd.

An interesting and scary movie. Griffith was ominous in that film wasn’t he.

She's publisher of her own magazine, called "O", and she puts herself on the cover of every issue.

Now THAT is an ego.

What's even more amazing is that it sells. Never underestimate the stupidity of the American People.
