From Super Bowl hero, to trade bait, what a stunning, shocking trade that has just gone down, and the bounty is simply appalling for someone of his caliber.
This is something more akin to an April Fools prank, and frankly I am kind of ticked off we didnt swoop in for this price.
The Steelers have agreed to trade Holmes to the New York Jets for a fifth round draft pick, the 153rd pick in the draft, to be exact.
I mean, I dont know what analysis to add except one of the most well run organizations in the league just allowed themselves to get fleeced willingly.

Good riddance.
OK OK I am wrong..geeeze...I am sorry...please forgive me....................Do you want it in The Post Gazette?
>>The Giants traded Pittsburgh for Plaxico Burress. How well did that work out?
The Stillers won the Super Bowl the following year.
Could’ve done without that image.
Remember so far Ben hasn’t even been arrested, sued once and accused once, no arrests and no charges. That’s enough to get some rumblings going, he’s going to have to straighten his ship, don’t be surprised if the Steelers grab a QB in the second day of the draft as a warning.
Well, both ended up winning a Super Bowl within the next three years (Steelers without Plax, Giants with Plax), so they both came out better due to the trade.
Anyone remember who the leading rusher in Superbowl XXX was?
Bam Morris, who is still in the pokey, right?
It helped the Giants win a superbowl.
“On September 10, 2001, Morris was convicted of violating his parole stemming from his 1996 plea bargain and sentenced to 10 years in a Texas prison. He was released early on July 31, 2004.” - Wikipedia
“The Giants traded Pittsburgh for Plaxico Burress. How well did that work out?”
Awesome considering Plax is sitting in prison right now.
It would be just like the Brownies to pick up a guy who is a pothead with a 50/50 shot at being out of football in a a year or two.
And then there was Joey Porter getting shot. He later went on to make another team proud for DUI, resisting arrest, and asaulting a police officer.
Yes, it would. But with their 12 draft choices and number of holes on the team (including experienced wide receivers who can actually hold on to a ball), plus the revolving door relationship they have with the Jets, the Santonio Holmes trade rang some bells.
His dogs chewed a little girl's miniature horse to pieces.
Porter was a puke
It was really his fault. I have just falsified your hypothesis
