Great show (even though leaned left) for the first few years. Dixie Carter's character was one class act. The true Dixie Carter was a Republican with libertarian leanings.

Condolences to her family, may she rest in peace.

    It must have been sudden.
I didn’t realize that this was posted and didn’t check (I screwed up). Asked mods to remove it.

It does seem young doesn’t it? People age so much better now it is really amazing. I guess Obama care will take care of that situation though.

She was a great actress. I loved her as Julia Sugarbaker! She could also do wonderful serious roles. Sending sympathy to her family.

The only reason I ever watched that show was because of Annie Potts.
RIP Dixie Carter

Sorry, but I don't remember the warm & fuzzies from this actress.
Linda Bloodworth-Thomason (yes that Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, ie friend of the Clintons) ...was the writer/creator of this liberal TV show....and Carter was her mouthpiece.
..and Carter seemed to relish the moments when she could excoriate those of us with a particular moral compass.
Let's not rewrite history....yes, she said she's a Republican....
..but surely we know how meaningful that can be in this day & age.
I know, I know....if you can't say anything good....
..but we don't need this revisionist stuff of someone who clearly has the videos around to prove otherwise.
