McDonnell; Brown; Palin; Santorum; Petraeus- All Telegenic Presidential Candidates But Not...
April 09th 2010

Posted on 04/09/2010 9:42:00 PM PDT by Steelfish

Bob McDonnell; Scott Brown; Sarah Palin; Rick Santorum; Petraeus - All Telegenic Presidential Candidates. OUT: Newt Gingrich; Haley Barbour; Pawlenty. It is critical that the next Republican candidate for president not only be a true conservative but one who can project a telegenic image to sway voters to pull the lever for them. The outcome of the presidential election of 2012 will either result in the signing of this nation's death warrant with an Obama re-election or trail-blaze a path to a miraculous political resurrection. With this being the case we simply cannot have our blinders on regarding the crucial issue of telemetrics no matter how articulate or informed the candidate is. Of course these qualities are essential but in the end "image" matters because it is how a candidate "connects" with the voting masses.

She continued the same policies of taxing the oil company for welfare distribution in Alaska, that is a fact that no one can refute. As I said the majority of Alaska revenues come from Federal government aids i.e. tax payers money from the lower 48 states and from taxes on the oil companies. That is not conservative or capitalist by any stretch.

And as usual, another PDS Sufferer choosed to except the left-wing supplied or even Paulbot supplied spin of the truth and reframes an issue to suit their agenda.

My last post concerning this laid it all out in correct, realistic, and honest terms.

According to the Alaska state constitution, the resources of Alaska belong to the people of Alaska. She followed the state constitution.

Should have said:

Wow, she refused in part of it but not all of it. I feel much better now about her conservative credientials (extreme sarcasm). She sounds like an Obama for me.

Anyway it is 4:10 AM my time and I need to go to sleep, you can have the last word.

Actually you were rabid about McCain, and very adamant that Rush Limbaugh (who you raved against constantly) wanted Hillary to be President and that freepers were too right wing and not representative of the voters that would elect your cult figure John McCain.

You preferred Mitt second and you now despise Governor Palin.

So, I guess you think that the federal tax-monies that the citizens of Alaska pay should not come back to Alaska, correct?

Alaskans should not get any of those things back, right?

Even if they are for enfrastructures issues?

Even after she attempted to make sure that none of the money had strings attached that would grow government?

Does your bitterness towards Sarah Palin know no end?

What is the real deal here jveritas, it certainly isn't that you have a valid position, you've proven that you don't.

What is it that has made you so mad against Governor Palin?

Now you've done it meadsjn, he's pulling out the big-guns of Hyperbole and calling you a cultist.

Somehow, jveritas has gotten this mixed up in his head that he can somehow either convince you or others reading this thread that his position is wonderful, logical and truthful if he used angry hyperbole.

You are the stupid one here. There is no other explanation for your presence on this thread.

If you don't like the discussion of potential conservative candidates, and you don't have any recommendations to add, why are you here?

I've been called worse, and probably will be again tomorrow.

This are "interesting times", as the old Chinese curse goes. Nothing in the past eighty years of history, economics, or politics can serve as a suitable guide.

RE: “LOL... you have already made Sarah Palin as the way out in the lead. You guys are delusional beyond belief and you are in for a very rude awakening.”

*******************

Why must we rush to come up with our candidates now? It’s too early to show our hand — let the Dems stew in their juices awhile and wonder where we are headed besides demanding repeal of the insane and hideous ‘Obamacare.’

Palin is doing a great job of needling away at Zero right now — it cracks me up that he even responds to her jabs. Love it.

I’m also enjoying Newt’s take on things lately — and Liz Cheney, and Bachmann and all the rest of them who lean right or are flat out Conservatives. And let’s not forget Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity, Malkin, Beck and the rest of our ‘right’ media friends. Everyone seems to be stepping up to the plate now and doing his/her part.

It’s getting exciting and I’m actually somewhat hopeful now for the first time since the election of ‘08 — I’ve been a really BAD mood until recently.

But let’s not try to pin down our ‘12 candidates now — sure, we need to be thinking about this but making assumptions is just not good — let them wonder............ we have plenty of time after this November to gear up for ‘12.

I hear ya!

It is amazing isn't it, the behavior of those who have chosen against Sarah Palin.

It's like she brings out either the worst or best in people, there does not seem to be any middle ground left, either in this instance, or politics in general.

Simply amazing and probably necessary if we are to see the country saved!

RE: “I do not know, we need to wait and see but Palin cannot beat Obama, Romney cannot defeat Obama because of the Masscare that he signed. Those two are out when it comes to defeating Obama in 2012.”

****************

I tend to agree with you though I do like Palin a lot and would have liked Romney had he never instituted his awful version of healthcare in MA. Many years ago I saw him as a good possibility.

As I said in another post, I think we need to wait awhile before trying to pin down our candidates for POTUS AND VP. What’s the rush????????

RE: “Rick Perry gave a fantastic speech Friday. What do you think of Perry-Palin? Is there still little love for Perry on FR?”

**************

Well, I like Perry and heard/watched that speech — but he should probably tone down the gesturing during his speeches — it’s distracting — and he might sound a little too much like “W” to please some people. But yes, I DO like Perry! I also like Santorum, Newt (unelectable, I know), Thune, DeMint and others. Palin, perhaps, she needs more ‘seasoning.’ But she sure is good at getting under Ozombie’s skin in her current role!

The rush is that Romney has already involved 200 million dollars and almost 4 years of preparation and organization and hiring toward the start of this primary, he is already running full speed.

Johnny come latelys find no donor money, no talent to hire, no powerful allies that haven’t already been locked up and no time to build name recognition. They find burnt out fields that an 800 pound gorilla has already ravished and drained of nourishment, remember Thompson in 2008.

Before everyone jumps on me I like Palin.

Even so, don’t forget that Obama drew ten of thousands too maybe not in the desert but the crowds were there.

Sarah can talk smack but is she “the One” who can stop Obama and his destructive agenda? According to the score card Obama won round one and we’re all paying the price. Can Palin win round two? Is she savvy enough to undo/fix the horrific mess Obama has us in? The price is America as we know it!!!

Romney can spend all he wants to but I really suspect even the RINOs in the party would think twice about supporting him given that heinous MA ‘health care’ failure. Talk about a gorilla on one’s back! How does Romney talk his way out of that mess? He’s already smarmy to listen to and just seems untrustworthy, though eons ago I thought he sounded like a good bet for the GOP.

I will tell you that I know a bunch of white male republicans and independents who like Romney because of his perceived success in business.

But don’t forget there’s also that pesky Mormon issue that tends to crop up. I don’t think he’s a shoo-in at all.

LOL, When?

Was it during a billion dollar presidential race?

Was it as a private citizen, during a non election year, when he wasn't running for any office, and in a small town desert?

There is no question that he is draining the resources of talent and donors and sucking the air out of any media that lesser players might be getting, Romney queered the 2008 primary field by doing this same thing in a smaller version, he ran off any serious conservatives that decided his financial backing was to daunting to overcome.

Romney can definitely queer the 2012 election as well.
