SPRINGFIELD, Va., - A Virginia man was acquitted of indecent exposure in his own home, his second trial on the charges after an appeals court overturned his initial conviction.
Erick Williamson, 29, who was convicted of indecent exposure in December by a Fairfax General District judge, appealed the conviction. He was found not guilty Wednesday by a Fairfax County Circuit Court jury after less than 20 minutes of deliberations, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
Williamson was charged after two women reported seeing him standing naked in the doorway to the carport at his Springfield home Oct. 19. One of the women was accompanied by her 7-year-old son.
Williamson, who admitted to going about his morning routine nude Oct. 19, denied standing in his carport doorway and said he never intended for anyone to see him. He said he would have covered up if he had known he was visible to passersby.
"It's a weight off my shoulders," Williamson said after Wednesday's verdict. "I think it sets the record straight. It was an innocent action."
gross public ugliness?
I wonder what her husband thought of her waiting half an hour.
And I think they were peeping Tammies too.
Ditto. This has to be about the most ridiculous story I’ve read in a long time.
LOL! Everyone should have a Gladys Kravitz neighbor who keeps watch.
In the AP article I read the woman who saw him flipped him off and fled with her child. The women and prosecutor said he was being intentional about it because he knew there were people around.
“At the time of his arrest, Williamson was sharing a home in Springfield with other commercial divers. He testified Wednesday that his roommates had gone to work and left him alone in the house for the first time in months. He was moving out, and decided to pack his belongings and make breakfast in the nude.
Two women testified that they saw him naked that morning. The first, a school librarian, said she heard a loud moan and drunken singing. Then, as she drove by Williamson’s house at about 6:40 a.m., she saw him in the buff and called 911.
A police officer came by the house, saw nothing unusual and left.”
Talk about indecent exposure. That is exhibit A.
Tsk, tsk.
I was trying to be funny. The point being if you see a nude man in the doorway, look the other way. For men, let’s face it, we’re going to stare at the nude woman and not complain. I’ll take a guess, it is the chromosomes...
