Upset over the incessant barking of a German Shepherd toward African Americans, Latinos and other non-Whites, a New York man stabbed a "racist" dog. As a result, the canine lost his eye and the attacker was charged in court. Consequently, in this crime, both parties appear to be victims "partially" of a difficult work environment.
58-year-old Andrew Owens and 4-year-old Jenna both worked at Valley Oil in Yonkers. Owens was a handyman and Jenna a guard dog. From the beginning, the two had a precarious relationship.
According to Jenna's owner, she has a negative to reaction to minorities. As a result, she automatically didn't like Andrew Owens. Allegedly, in the past, her distaste for him led to a dog bite and lots of aggressive barking. Apparently, Owens was able to tolerate the situation until finding out the true reason behind Jenna's behavior. Afterward, he snapped cutting her, unprovoked, with a knife.
Fortunately, Jenna did not lose her life. Yet, this story is a sad one that is causing many people to look at her owner. They question whether she was trained to hate minorities and as a consequence, acted out against them. If so, he would hold some responsibility for creating a volatile environment.
Of course, Jenna's owner denies all allegations of training his dog to be "racist". Instead, he is focusing on an injured animal that regardless of her mentality didn't deserve a vicious attack. In the end, this is probably where most interested parties will end up.
bringing goodies ok...taking said goodies away, notsogood?
ha!
Wait-a-minute,Wait-a-minute,...! Aren’t dogs color-blind?! They only see shades of gray.
I'm reminded of the John Wayne movie 'Hondo', in which he has a dog that hates indians. Hondo is asked how he trained his dog to alert on any indian within two miles. He calmly explains that he hired an indian to beat the dog as a puppy.
People have a right to defend themselves against vicious dogs. The dog should have been killed the first time he bit someone.
We grew up with a German Shepard that would go nuts if a black person came to the house. She jumped right through a door window once and chased a guy that had come to the door right up on to his truck. Never could figure out what pissed her off so much.
Like the truth, some shades of gray are darker than others.
LOL
My SIL has a Maltese and when a black person walks by she goes nuts. My SIL is dark skinned hispanic so it’s funny when some guy will say “oh your dog is racist” and I’ll look at him and say not my dog,but hers (pointing to SIL).
We think the maltese is like that because she got tortured a little by my SIL’s niece who was jealous of dog (she’s darker that my SIL).
You just can’t win. I gave up trying.
We need to go back to “an eye for an eye” justice.
Wonder what treatment Bo is getting...
Beauties!
My GSDs are similarly not impressed.
I know— I was trying to be funny...
If you read the fine print, I maintain that I’ve had two dogs that have been attracted to the color red— even though they are supposed to be red-green color blind. And it’s not just up close to be attributed to the scent of something red— it’s also been at a distance.
On a completely different note, one of them also tracked a plane going across a night sky.
She’s an entirely different entity... And I mean that as a compliment...
No, actually they do see colors but not the way we do.
Any GSD worth her salt does pick up on unusual body languge, ie someone is overly anxious or hostile.
Expect more of these incidents as Obama & the MSM gin up a race war.
I learned years ago that GSDs are targets for druggies due to the association with law enforcement.
Expect the left to start making the Hitler associations.
Keep your dogs safe from libtards. Be mindful of how easy it is to poison a dog in his own yard.
Dogs know things. Mine, for example, does not like muslims, and that is a straight across the board thing. White, black, does not matter.
Somebody ought to take out his eye. Good grief. It’s a dog, fella. Get a clue.
So when I buy them Christmas stuff, they don’t get it?
Oh, ugh. Thanks for ruining my day.
I suspect they do...
People also have a right to make asses of themselves and claim a dog is "racist".
I know I’ll get trashed for this, but I’ve heard some people who work in black areas say blacks have a different scent.
In fact, once when I had a black person in my car, the next person in the car mentioned it. I can’t smell it (and I wouldn’t mention it if I could) but certain people who often go into black homes have mentioned it to me. My guess is it may be hair products or different food items they eat.
If a person can pick it up, I’m sure a dog can, and would regard it as “different”.
When I was in high school we had a dog my dad rescued from a dog fight ring. It was half pit bull/great dane. Big big dog with rippling muscles but the sweetest thing ever. It liked everyone in my little Appalachian and pure white town.
But when I would drive through Youngstown OH the dog would go crazy when he saw a black person in another car, absolutely crazy. The windows were up so he couldn’t smell them, it was apparently a visual thing. Maybe it was something from his fighting past.
