Heh, that was about as charitable as Thurrott is going to get, calling people tools.
I don’t doubt he said the same type of thing about the iPod...:)
(If he was born back then, that is)

I'm not an Apple guy I'm a laptop guy, but on first look I like the idea of the I-pad and think that a couple generations down the road when I need to replace my laptop I would compare the two.
A couple of initial questions come to mind and I'm sure they've been addressed, but I ask anyway.
If I'm sitting in my recliner as I am now how do I hold the I-pad and type out e-mails and such?
What protects my I-pad screen as I move about, does it come with a lid?

I got to play with one on Sunday. For what it is I think it’s pretty cool and as Walter Mossberg says: “smoking fast”. Seriously thinking of getting one for home just for surfing the internet. Beats hauling my big laptop back and forth between home and the office.

I’m thinking camera. Two cameras, one for each orientation. There’s lots of empty space in an iPad, so four cameras, to do 3D in either orentation. Four speakers, too, stereo in either orientation, or 3D audio overall.
