I don’t think I am drinking enough tequila to like Tim.

“In A Yugo” for sure! Probably to everyone on the thread. But — Big Mike DID sing it really well. He was worth the save.

Shadoobie and Adam went to the same hairdresser!

No, actually, I think Chiffon went to my grandmother's hairdresser on Fairfax by the studio. Same "over 80" blue hair style.

My order:

Lee: best of the night. He needs only to connect a bit more with the audience, but he is getting there. Great sound to his voice, and he is entertaining.

Bowersox: Second best. Very entertaining and nearly as good as Lee but maybe I just expected MORE from her because she is so good. Couldn’t she have moved her feet a tad, even hooked up to an electric guitar? Standing so stock still, it’s just not all the way there to being a performer. She’s got the voice, but she needs to make a little more of herself.

Big Mike: Hate the song, but he did an excellent job with it. I personally do not think that just because you have a baby in the Ghet-to, you need a helping hand. But he’s an amazing singer, it can’t be denied.

Casey: He was good but not as great as the last two weeks. HATE his hair pulled back. He has a wonderful quality to his voice.

Yoda: He was darling. I really liked how he came out of his shell and tried to Elvis it up. He’s got a great big voice, and he is only 16. he may be leaving us but I believe he did his best and has been growing every week.

Katie: While she bugs me ALWAYS due to her phony attitude, she did a great job with this song and her anger within it. I liked her performance and I usually don’t.

Chiffon: Her lack of brains is affecting her singing. She didn’t get it when she was CLEARLY told weeks ago to STOP that first half slow and low, second half all scream. She can’t stop doing it. One trick pony. Hair done up like an Old Jewish Grandma after a salon visit. Weird business suit with huge cutouts all over her body showing her skin, boots same thing. She likes being weird, but at least Lambert is weird AND SMART. Too bad, because she has got quite a voice.

Turban: I just don’t get him. I expect glitter to come out of his mouth like on toothpaste commercials each time he opens a cheesy smile. His voice sucks. His sincerity toward his 14-yr-old female audience seems fake. He’s in his zone and maybe he does get a Disney Channel show after this.

Andrew: I am sorry I ever liked him for one second. He can’t make anything happen. He has a great quality to his voice, but he has no self-awareness or maybe no brains, because he cannot seem to use his voice for good in the world.

Ryan should not use the term “a lot to pack in” considering tonights guest mentor...

Bwhahahah! I've seen woman that wear less high gloss make up than Adam does!

The very first season of AI had Seacrest and Dunkleman as hosts...the next season Dunkleman was gone and Seacrest has gone solo since!

Well, last night was another night where the quality of the music helped bring up the quality of the contestants. Add to that an excellent mentor in Adam Lambert, and it resulted in an overall good night of entertainment. I thought Adam’s comments and advice were spot on to every contestant.

One thing really shone through to me last night though, and that was ‘Believability’. For the most part I do not listen to the “You don’t know who you are” crowd, but for the first time this season I really felt that there were a handful of artists that were believable with their performances, and a few that just seemed to be out of place completely. What really shocked me is that the absolute BANE of our existence moved well into that believable category, while a onetime front runner completely shattered theirs.

On to the rankings:
1. CRYSTAL BOWERSOX – I’m Saved – Crystal kicked off the night with a rollicking performance of a very obscure Elvis song. She showed every aspect of her immense talent, and continued to separate herself from the rest of the pack.

2. LEE DEWYZE – A Little Less Conversation – By far Lee’s best performance of the season. For once he actually SOLD me on his commitment and his performance. This was just flat out outstanding all the way around.

3. MICHAEL LYNCHE – In The Ghetto – OK, I really do not get the animosity so many have for Big Mike. The man can flat out sing – PERIOD! Anyone who did not have chill bumps after this vocal master class is either not listening or has other reasons to not like Big Mike. Sorry if I step on toes, but that is just flat out how I feel. Michael Lynche is one of the top two or three singers this season, and one has to conclude his voting weakness is for reasons other than his singing ability.

4. TIM URBAN – I Can’t Help Falling in Love With You – Tim is really starting to scare me. This week I found myself enjoying the TUrbanator ™ totally. His vocals were beautiful, and he completely sold this song. Plus, you might as well get used to the idea of him being somewhere in the top 5 because every tweeny in the nation fell head over heels in love last night.

5. CASEY JAMES – Lawdy Miss Clawdy – While the previous 4 completely sold their performances, I wasn’t 100% that way with this one. Casey threw all of his bluesy rock soul into this song, and it was a good performance, but in the end it was just that – a good performance. I like Casey, and I liked this, but I was not blown away by it.

6. KATIE STEVENS – Baby, What Do You Want Me To Do – First, Katie has a great voice, and she showed it off again tonight. However, this one fell completely short in the believability quotient. This whole performance felt contrived from the get go. Yes it was sassy and had attitude, but it was not genuine, or at least it did not feel that way.

7. SIOBHAN MAGNUS – Suspicious Minds – Wow, how the mighty have fallen. Siobhan said she doesn’t know who she is from song to song, well honey it showed tonight, because she had no clue whatsoever on that stage. Her voice sounded good, and she hit a couple of strong notes without a doubt, but the whole thing was just a mess that left me sitting there saying ‘What in the hell was that’.

8. AARON KELLY – Blue Suede Shoes – For the second week in a row I actually liked Aaron’s voice, but at the end of the performance I found myself sitting their laughing. It is not Aaron’s fault that he is only 16 (or is it 17), but in the end all I could picture was a little lion cub walking behind daddy swaying his head back and forth and growling in that cute little cub roar. I thought the performance was good, but just could not get beyond the ‘little boy playing grown up daddy’ image.

9. ANDREW GARCIA – Hound Dog – Ok, this wasn’t a total dog. I actually liked the change in beat and the little Latin flairs Andrew gave it, but in comparison with the others it was nothing more than the little mint at the end of a 7 course meal. Tasty, but just as easily left on the plate with the tip.

SHOULD GO HOME – ANDREW without a doubt, he is totally out of his league now. AARON just because he is not ready yet.

WILL GO HOME – ANDREW without a doubt. Second vote off will probably be KATIE, but AARON and SIOBHAN, and possibly even CASEY need to sweat it out. Then there is the Big Mike hatred, that is the wild card, and It is also a complete shame and travesty.

Your reviews always make me laugh :)

Can't go home fast enough: Garcia; followed closely by Yoda Boy

Agreed. If Siobhan replaced either one of them, that would be fine with me too.

Ok I agree Andrew needs to go - and I think Mike but if he didn't go then Katie, Aaron ...or Crystal! haha don't like her either.....

As for Mike - he can sing but I just don't like him would never buy his record etc....e's too showboaty? Cruise shippy? too over the top for me.... but he's not the worst one that is for sure...

Casey was a disappointment last nite...

I like Lee, Casey & Tim....I even like Aaron more than any of the female singers....

it's fun to watch....I didn't bother to vote

Seriously, this season has rapidly approached "completely boring" with an occasional detour into "painful".

Between Seacrest, Degeneris, and Lambert, can the show get any gayer? Maybe if the dressed the female contestants in flannel and made the guys cross-dress, but that's about the only step left.

And if this wasn't bad enough, next week is the beg-a-thon.

Meanwhile, on to the (yawn) singing. In a massive shocker, Crystal Dirtylocks, Casey "The stick figure stuck to a guitar" James, and Lee "Who?" Dewize all managed to sound exactly like they do every week. Way to "mix it up", you three. Oh, and a tip to Crystal and Casey -- for the love of all that is holy, can you at least try to perform without hiding behind an instrument?

Big Mike did a pretty decent job this week, but even there, it's pretty much in exactly the same zone as what he's been doing recently.

Siobhan was out in Siobhan land again. While she entertains me the most out of any of this lot, she'll have a hard time winning the competition if she continues to be all over the place.

I know it sounds contradictory -- slamming some contestants for being too consistent while railing on others for not being consistent enough. There's a middle ground that has to be reached, and I don't really see anyone there.

Katie was pretty decent. Too little too late, though? At least she's willing to take the notes and try to improve, however, so props for that. I thought Tim did surprisingly well; he did a good job changing things up, and was one of the few that didn't sound karaoke. With any luck, he'll get enough of the Ferlie vote so we can ditch...

Aaron. I mean, he finally picks a song that's not too "old" for him, and just comes across as a doofus doing it. He's trying too hard, and it's showing, rather than adapting the songs to fit him.

Andrew... he's finally started to get into his groove again, but you know what? He's become boring. Even when he does something a little different and offbeat, he manages to make it dull. Then again, this whole season is dull, so maybe he fits in the group better than he otherwise should.

No rankings from me. It's become pointless.

Just so you know, your absence tonight means you have to be here for the Begathon next week :)

Begathon! My favorite week.....not really.

I see I not only have to watch the show before tonight, I have to catch up on 600 posts too.
