The books are much better than the TV movies!

Sean Bean is remarkable. He smouldered in Patriot Games. He was great in LOTR as well.

Sharpe’s Peril should be good. Sharpe’s Challenge was on last Sun evening on Masterpiece.

These are the Indian episodes before Sharpe went to Iberia. The movies redated the adventures so that they occur after Waterloo, allowing Bean to continue to play the role. It is a bit confusing for fans of the books and obviously Wellington’s life will not be saved.

Been hooked on Sharpe ever since I discovered Bernard Cornwell’s books at my local library. I’ve seen every Sharpe movie & didn’t recall ever hearing of “sharpe’s Peril”. Good to know it’s new. Can’t wait to see it!

OK...too many threads, same topic, I have been told.

IK, Having seen ‘Peril’, I can happily say that *that* was classic Sharpe! Liked it much better than ‘Challengr. (a clinker IMO) The only thing that could have made it better, was if they did an audio/vocal reprise of ‘Oer the Hills and Far Away’, from ‘Rifeles’ or was it in ‘Company’?

But that’s what I call ‘Entertainment’! >;)

Ugh. When I read the headline I thought of High School Musical. I don’t watch it, but my wife and kids do ...
