Come on in and have a chat.
Nicodemus 16:1
Or just tune into History Channel right now.
I didn’t think that was right either but it is in there.
You went to a poor-quality Sunday School.
Would you be so kind as to where in the Bible it says Jesus went to hell
See post 101 above
Please tell us what church you were in when you heard that Jesus went to hell. That is simply bizarre.
I did but I ignored it because theres no such thing as Nico 116
Truly.
LLS
I once worked for a man that was born in Shenzhen City, escaped to Hong Kong with his mother, attended school in The US, became an American citizen, started a construction HVAC business in Southern California, and now has offices in 6 Chinese cities.
I just thought of something.
I may never have heard of the book of Nico because it is in the Catholic Bible?
I googled it and found it but 16.1 does not say anything about hell
I would thank you for helping me but you are more proficant at insults then defending your beliefs.
The Apostle’s Creed states that “he was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead.”
Pretty much self explanitory to me.
I appreciate your response. In all of my 40-something years as a Christian I have never heard that, and my teachings have come from The Bible. I have read the Creed before, but my translation does not contain the sentence about descending into Hell.
Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption
Matt.12 1. [40] For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
1 Peter 3:18-19 ¶For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? Ephesians 4:9
I just dont hear many people say “Jesus died on the cross and went to hell”
heart of the earth and spirits in prison = hell?
I better do some bookwork and get my answers
but thanks for the Scripture, it gives me a great starting point.
CONCLUSION
The truth of the matter concerning the whereabouts of Christs soul during the three days and three nights before the resurrection is not hard to understand if one believes the actual words of the scriptures. Christs soul went down into the pit in the heart of the earth.” He arrived in the flames of hell where he suffered the punishment that all men deserve, deposited our sins, and preached the final sentence of eternal damnation. With that complete, he took out the key, and unlocked the gates, crossed the great gulf, and went into paradise or Abrahams bosom. There he preached the gospel to the souls there and identified himself as their Redeemer. At the end of his seventy-two hours of death those souls resurrected with him and then finally were taken to heaven.
Heres a link that gives the conclusion in my previous post.

With satan being put on notice that victory has been won and that the end is near, he scrambles to deceive more souls.
