Dog stolen from ACS Shelter: The dog is a 2-year-old mixed breed female with black, brown and white coloring. The dog was slated for rescue by the Animal Defense League who had performed an evaluation on her just minutes before she was taken. (Photo from ACS)

I dont se the big deal. The shelter places dogs in homes, and now the dog has a home.

So basically they broke the dog out of jail?

Pit Bull training...or perhaps the woman owned the dog and just went and got her. The dog was leash trained obviously and just walked out of the building with a stranger? There’s more to this story.

THE PERP FESSES UP:
This is the most outrageous misunderstanding I have ever heard of!!! I am the owner and person taped at the Animal Shelter. I was NEVER told the protocol of checking back into the office!!! There was no personnel around or available to assist me or ask if there was something further to do to claim my dog. I am completely offended and embarrassed at the actions taken. Those of you who are so quick to place blame and judgement should be ashamed, as should the Animal Care Services!! The video of me "conspiring" with the man I have never in my life seen is a complete misrepresentation of my character and I am beyond anger at the insinuations it presents. SHAME ON YOU ALL!!!!!!!!

Well, it sounds as if their approach to dog adoption was a bit unusual. But we can hope they’ll give him a good home. Isn’t that the whole point?

Perhaps it was their dog that got caught by the dog catcher and they didn’t have the bail money but wanted their dog back? I’d hate to think with the economy the way it was that they may have been in a position that they had to choose between groceries and bailing the dog out?

I’m glad the owner got the dog before the ADL; I’d rather get a root canal than deal with those nutballs.

Looks like the doggie was rescued by someone who cared . I got my dog from a wondeful rescue outfit and was happy to pay a reasonble fee . If people with a good home were to ever steal a dog from them they would not call the cops . They would move on to plow a more fertile portion of God’s creation and rescue another dog .
