Unfortunately a lot of pigs are on the site...some even clearly identifying themselves as such (and teasing the legitimate users).
Great site. Would improve tremendously if they used the Google Maps API.
It's much easier to just obey the traffic laws. It puts less stress in your day, and everybody else's for that matter, plus it makes you less interesting to traffic cops. But there's always the idiot that's got to get where they're going one second before everyone else and gin up a bunch of excitement and stress for everyone on the road. Driving is the one thing we all do just about every day that has the potential to directly affect so many other people's lives, stupid driving is NOT a victimless crime.

Thank you. Today I’m going to make a point of driving 5mph under the speed limit to irritate the idiots. LOL
Whatever. That’s not my point at all.
I like safe drivers, same as you do.
But if you roam around a bit on the site, you’ll note that a number of municipalities have gotten themselves in hot water by SHORTENING the time the traffic lights are “yellow.” This is in order to catch more speeders, who may not have been speeding at all.
It appears that, in lieu of raising taxes outright, some places have resorted to tormenting drivers, in order to raise revenue.
Not surprising, but we shouldn’t be pushing yellow lights either.
I find this rather funny that people will spend a ton of time looking for speed traps online so they don’t get caught speeding when they are in such a hurry. Why not use the time wasted on this website to drive the speed limit and maybe get their a little bit later. Probably late in the first place because of wasting time checking out the speed traps.

Brecksville Ohio used to use a really nasty tactic. At the main intersection of Rts 82 and 21, they’d sometimes put a cop out to manually control the traffic light. If they didn’t like the looks of you or your vehicle, they’d flash the yellow for a second, and then go to red. They had a patrol car on the other side to nab anyone who couldn’t hit the brakes fast enough. They tried to get me in my work van. I managed to jam on the brakes and stop, but everything in my van slid forwards. I put on my blinker, and went straight to the police station. The Chief had been my neighbor, and was/is a friend. I let him know I wasn’t pleased.

Several issues:
Many speed limits are set deliberately and ridiculously low and then enforced heavily as revenue enhancement. That is the classic speed trap.
People tend to drive at speeds at which they feel safe, and that is often higher than posted limits. In general, cars today are far safer and more capable than they were decades ago when these limits were set.
Instead of cruising around and nailing people who do truly stupid and dangerous things while driving, or cruising neighborhoods looking for suspicious activities, the police prefer the low stress approach of going for the 5 over violators nabbed with radar, vascar, or similar devices. While parked waiting to nab violators, they are only doing part of the job we are paying them for. The street cops are pressured into this tactic by their management (via quotas).
Of course, when you see a parked cop operating a speed trap, you also know that there is one less cop on the street, so you are that much less likely to get nabbed somewhere else in the area.
Strict adherence to artificially low speed limits can often put YOU in danger. You are safest when you travel close to the average speed of traffic. Going significantly slower or faster is asking for trouble. The worst case result is often an accident and/or a multi-mile traffic jam.
