LOL

I’m going to freeze some of both. We love lima beans with ham. I will freeze the turkey with some broth so we can have hot turkey sandwiches.

I need to do something with the leftover fruit salads. I made two .... Marissa loves fresh fruit but she does not like coconut or pineapple. The rest of my family would be disappointed if I didn’t make the salad with pineapple, oranges, coconut, marshmellows and sour cream. I sent lots home with Jr but I still have enough fruit to feed my family for 3 or 4 days.

Tiapam,
I was born and raised within 5 miles of where I now live in Eagle Rock. I have been through every major earthquake in the Los Angeles area since 1941. That includes the Tehachapi, Sylmar, Northridge, Whittier Narrows, Sierra Madre, Big Bear, Landers, you name them.

They are frightening when things are falling and breaking as in the Northridge and Sylmar quake. We lost our fireplace and front porch during those quakes. One of the most frightening things is the loss of power. Especially in the night quakes. I sleep with flashlights within reach!!!

Yesterday’s quake was a wake up call that we live in Earthquake country.
We rolled for at least 30 seconds yesterday, waiting for it to increase! It never did. When I went to see the “ small” tremor on the USGS website, I didn’t find anything and thought, oh well, must have been my imagination. Refreshed it and went ZOWIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been somewhat apprehensive today and have refreshed that USGS site about 10-15 times a hour!

WOW!,WOW!,WOW! You’ve been somewhat put through the “ringer”! Moved to Calif. in 1986 and experienced some myself. No fun!!! But just before I moved, we had an earthquake in Cleveland, Ohio. Go figure!! A friend of my brother’s, who lived in Laguna Niguel, said when the earthquake hit, the alarms in parked cars on the street, all went off! That must have been pretty scary, at the time. I will pray that things quiet down for you all!

Thank you, it was really nice. Yes, I’ve been here since 1991 too! Moved here for graduate school and never left. I think we might be going up to Lake Powell this weekend, not sure yet, maybe to the condor country near Lee’s Ferry... :0)

Good afternoon, Lori.
Thank you for Today's sweet Spring Opener.

Hope you had a Blessed Easter.
Did you go camping or did you have company?

There is a Tea Party in Fresno next Saturday ... are you and JK planning to attend?
I talked to Jim ... he is planning to be there.
It is an all day event.

Have a Magnificent Monday.

Yes the car alarms usually always go off! Just adds some more to the tension of the moment. So far today has been real quiet, so the aftershocks, although they are coming 3 or more every 5 minutes, are much less in intensity. 2’s and 3’s!

Glad it’s getting quieter, for now! You can’t really feel the smaller one’s, right? Or maybe it depends where you are at(inside or outside)!

Hope that everyone had a wonderful, wonderful Easter weekend; company just left a couple of hours ago, and I wanted to rest and catch up reading a bit. I was going to try to respond to pings I've missed for several days, but only got through Thursday and part of Friday of this new month, but what sweet, cute posts there were!

Still gonna do some catchin' up! :)

Meg, your Happy Birthday post (#27) to jaycee last Thursday is just the prettiest thing! Love the colors you chose to frame the basket full of spring flowers.

Love all the yellow daffodils in #39, Meg! So cheerful, so very SPRING!

#97 - what a cutie! He wants to go outside and play!

#183 - Good Friday post so lovely with the red and white tulips.

I have seen your Sunday opening, and it is wonderful - so very beautiful and such a special Easter post. Thank you, Meg.

What beautiful collies, tiapam. (#32 your birthday post to jaycee) At least I think they're collies.. or shelties? It's hard to tell with "mom" lying down. Her fur looks so soft and silky!

Oh my gosh at #36! LOL!

(#41)No Dusting Today, Ladies!

LOL! Looks like no playing on the computer or talking on the phone either! Funny!

#81 - That is so sweet and so patriotic! The little girls hair style reminds me of how Sara Palin wears her hair, sometimes! Thank you !!!!

I hadn't thought about that, but you're right! Thank you, tiapam.

#120 - Thank you for your lovely compliment on the opening post for April.

Your Good Friday post (#153) was so pretty with those flickering candles.

Depends on where they are located. If a 3 or 4 is right near by , OH YES!!
We felt a 5.1 this morning that is a aftershock in Mexico. But under that, if it is located that far away, no.

Don’t you think it might still be cold in that area, to go up now? We have been having 50-60 wind gusts today! Let me know what you decide to do.
