I haven’t seen a rattler for a couple years, now.
Up until last year, I had a tarantula (named “Hairy”) that would come up to the front porch, everytime I would sit out there. I would whistle, and say, “Where’s Hairy?”, and he would come right up to the step, look at me, and perhaps hang out for a few minutes, then go back to wherever he came from. Wonder whatever happened to him?
Amy - aren’t there some states that are ‘tax-free’? (Like Nevada?) That’s where I would be looking, if I were to leave AZ.
I talked to my son this morning (CA), and he is SO upset about the illegal situation he wants to leave too. He can’t believe all the people whining about the state being so broke. He said all they have to do is open their eyes and they will see the millions of illegals there, that get all the ‘freebies’ that the taxpayer has to dole out for them. He also said, that if “O” gives them all amnesty, and they all become citizens, the biggest majority of them will go on welfare. (Why spend all day picking lettuce, when you can sit on your front porch drinking beer, and let the welfare check increase every year, as you keep having babies.)

AZ has little lizards, and every couple years or so you might see a snake.....but unless you live out on the desert, you won’t see many reptiles.
I like Prescott, too! It is a great place to live, and I often drive down there (hour and a half drive), to shop. They have every kind of shop you could think of there. Up here, we only have tourist shops, and you have to go to Cottonwood just to get to Wal-Mart.
I love the shops and malls in Phoenix - but that is a two hour drive, and in the summer, it is usually over 110 degrees, even up to 118. It’s like trying to breathe in an oven!

Update on Haley, she is doing better, temp still holding at normal. Now we are sweating the long term effects of both illness and meds. It will be months or years before we know much of anything on those issues.
