DETROIT (AP) -- Federal authorities had been monitoring members of a Michigan-based Christian militia for some time but were forced to "take them down" over the weekend after learning of an imminent threat against police, the U.S. attorney leading the prosecution said Tuesday.
Barbara McQuade's comments came three days after eight members of a small group of "Christian warriors" were arrested in several Midwestern states and a day after the FBI nabbed a ninth suspect, Joshua Stone, following a standoff at a trailer in rural Michigan.

I read an essay yesterday which suggested that the recent “Window War” was what caused the action. It seems that a number of Dem congresscritters have ben complaining to the FBI about those dangerous radicals out there that resort to property damage to make a point. The FBI (which may very well keep a list of individuals and groups to “take down” at a moment’s notice) picked Hutaree off the list and went out to make a statement.
The danger in this sort of thing lies in how they make that “ststement.” The ATF wanted to make a statement at Waco and eventuall had to call in the FBI to pick up their marbles - we all know how well that worked out. The FBI also was making a statement at Ruby Ridge. Their later statements, made in court, weren’t believed by the jury and ended up costing them (the FBI) most of the public trust they had been trying to cultivate for years.
Admittedly, the FBI has some very smart people working for it but the collective IQ of the whole is somewhere around a frog’s ankles. Still, they have to know that there are a lot of unhappy souls around the country that simply will not permit another Waco-style event to occur without retaliation. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out that all those agents had only one bullet each and they had to keep it in their shirt pocket!
First, WHO are the “Hutaree” and WHAT did they REALLY believe?
Second, WHAT exactly did they do that made it immediately necessary to “take them down?”
Third, WHEN will we get to hear THEIR side of the story?
Fourth, WHY in the WORLD would the Feds expect us to just “take their word for it” or “trust them” on this?!
Fifth, HOW were these people incriminated? Were they entrapted, a la Ruby Ridge & Randy Weaver?
I think it’s quite far to ask these questions, and to EXPECT answers. We should ALSO EXPECT that these people are innocent until PROVEN guilty — should they expect any LESS that the rights the Obamaunists conveyed on NON-AMERICAN AL QUEDA prisoners from Gitmo!?!?
Looks like a group of hog hunters to me. Close to a dozen of us get together every year for a hog hunt in south TX, just about everybody carry’s an AR on that trip.

I would be surprised if these boys are cop killers. They don't look it in their group photo. Not an ex con in the bunch by the look of it. They look like a rife squad of good men.
I think that entrapment is a distict possibility.
So how come these same fed police didn’t take down the 9/11 terrorists before they hijacked our airplanes and crash them into our buildings killing our people?
The whole “Christian” and “Michigan Militia” and threats to law enforcement coming just after president obarky got his takeover of the medical industry, Holy Week, April 15 and 19 coming close just looks way to much like a big pile of donkey poop. Sorry won’t buy it. Looks too much like a take down of a group of people that would sell newspapers and give the feds a big splash. I have to hand it to them at least they didn’t go in with CS gas and tanks this time.
Well, my point is guys, we HAVE taken down some Muslim groups that were plotting attacks. I personally don’t care who the group prays to: if they’re planning on killing cops and then bombing those funerals, bust ‘em before it happens instead of waiting until after-wards and saying “Oops.”

Janet “Jackboot” sent that memo out about who the “real” terrorists are (hint: not Muslim jihadis) and then “took it back” but it’s obvious to anyone not on 0thugga’s side that jihadis are not to be touched (look at Hassan, everyone knew he was a one man jihad with a fuse burning), but dirt poor farmers with missing teeth and kooky ideas are the Devil incarnate.
I have no idea what these guys really did or really planned to do. Hopefully that will all be made clear.
But the fact that the feds DO NOT TOUCH the KNOWN JIHADI TRAINING CAMPS IN THE USA while using (from what I’ve read) hundreds of agents to “take down” these nine guys makes me sick enough to puke my guts out.

Thanks for posting this website. After parousing it, I find absolutely nothing that calls for any kind of violence against the Federal Government, no insidious plans to kill LE officers, nor any plot against the President nor other Federal officials. One Caveat — there is only limited access to their forums, so members could say anything in there and only hackers and Feds would know.
It does seem that, according to their doctrinal statement, they might be a little off on their hermeneutics and eschatology (but so are many other Christians), and that’s not a crime.
I don’t believe I am alone here in saying that the timing of this raid is AWFULLY suspect, and the negative coverage in the LEFTIST (Obamunist) Media terribly predictable at this particular time. Washington and their propaganda arm in the Press are doing everything they can to identify Tea Party activists with criminal activities or elements. Painting this “Christian Militia” with that broad brush serves the purposes of those in Washington DC who would destroy our liberties.
That said, if there were/ARE members of the Hutaree who are plotting to INITIATE violence in the name of Libety, or the Tea Parties, or whatever, then they SHOULD be prosecuted. Christian Patriots DON’T initiate violence — but neither do they shrink from it if they, their families, their property or their rights are directly threatened.
I, for one, would INSIST that those arrested be considered INNOCENT until proven guilty, and that they have their right to a day in court with a jury of their peers. I’m just POSITIVE that AG Holder and his boss “Dear Leader” Obama want to give these AMERICAN CITIZENS at least the SAME rights they conferred upon the FOREIGN, AL QUEDA terrorists from Gitmo...Right?...Sure...

I’m beginning to see this the same way C7....This looks TERRIBLY fishy on the part of the FEDS at this point, does it not?
Christians need to be taken down is what they really dream for...the conservative ones.
I fear there will come a time all this will seem trite.

I know that was your point. None of the Muslim groups was taken down during an aggressive campaign against Muslims in general. In fact, quite the opposite. So we have no standard for comparison.
Dictators throughout history have created strawmen opponents who were terribly menacing. Noone had to create the Muslim terrorist threat.
And maybe these militia guys were real and were a threat. If so, kudos to the FBI.
And maybe not. Remember the huge right-wing terrorist threat during the Clinton administration, just when Bill was tanking in the polls? A lot of people died so that Bill could demonize everyone to the left of Olympia Snowe.
And maybe it’s something in between.

So maybe the FBI’s suspicion these were bad guys was a genuine suspicion and all the drama was still entirely opportunistic.
