Relax, things are going to turn around, and are already beginning to do so at least in the minds and hearts of the people.
Most of the folks who voted for Obama in 08 aren’t brainwashed lefties at all and thought that he would be behaving in a more pragmatic fashion. They did not expect all this socialism, and the Republican candidate assured them they had nothing to worry about.
This isn’t over in the least. People, non-political people, even some democrats are very skeptical of all of this.
And if it was, you wouldn’t want to be in central America anyhow- the US federal government has always had a lot of influence there. If you must move, maybe go to a country committed to growth like India where they speak English.
No
Unless you can live off “investments” and “managing a company”, you can not work in Costa Rica under new laws passed in 2007 to keep out the hordes of hippie Americans and Europeans.
Make them leave.
Our money is going Australian. Don’t know if we physically bail. Maybe Chile.
sure, a lot of us are scared and sick and tired of caring the burden, but I couldn't totally desert my children...
your community...your church...your friends...your neighbors need you.....and your country needs you...
Just bought a perfect little cottage in El Pino, Honduras. It’s 15 minutes from the El Porvenir pristine beach and 15 minutes from the breathtaking Pino Bonito mountain national park. It’s about a half hour from the city of La Ceiba, with its modern shopping centers and health care.
My water bill is $31 a year. My electricity is free. I have a live-in maid for $50 a month. I will pay no Honduras income taxes on income earned outside the country. I paid less for my two-bedroom home than most people pay a year in house payments. And my property taxes are under $200 a year
And on top of all that, Honduras is a free country — with none of the Marxist alphabet agencies that now dictate our every move in the US. And the new conservative government stopped the Obama-Chavez-Zelaya Marxist takeover last June.
So, yes, I do intend to relocate outside of the US. But, for my money, Honduras is a far better buy than either Panama or Costa Rica.
My hope is that Texas become a republic again and I will go there.
You can count me in. I’m definitely interested in Panama...but it seems the laws to emigrate there have recently changed. I read on their site that one has not only to draw a monthly retirement income of at least $750 (doable), but must also invest $100,000 in Panamanian real estate (not doable).
Keep in mind, FReepers an earlier post of mine: it might be better for many of us to stay within the borders of the United Socialist States, but COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR. Read my link to J. J. Luna’s “How to be invisible.” The link is to the first edition from 2000, but you can buy a more recent edition published in 2004. For the most recent information, go to Luna’s website, “howtobeinvisible.com”
Given the fact that it’s going to take a few years to implement zerodeathcare — assuming it isn’t killed by the states and by SCOTUS — I would make haste and start studying this stuff now. If you don’t need it, great. If you do need it, you’ll have things in place to become invisible.
First, I don’t have the $$ to leave here, and I’m not leaving either the little $$ I do have behind — much less all my family and friends,
Second, Ronald Reagan was right — America is the last, best hope for freedom — there’s nowhere left to go.
Third, I am no better than the Founders — if “the price of freedom is eternal vigilance” for Thomas Jefferson 235 years ago, then it is no less so for me today.
I will stay. I will stand. I will speak. If necessary I will die. I’m not going anywhere until liberty returns to this land.
I’m not leaving. I’ll make THEM leave first.
Yes.
Me? I’m going to day dream of a USA w/o liberals or anything else that is a threat to our conservative way of life. Reality is almost getting to be too much to suffer.
No. My family shed too much blood for this country for me to give up now. Surrender is not an option.
Yes, but not to Costa Rica or Panama.
...Thought about it for a year, Israel. They have the will to fight and die because they’re at the broken end of a bottle. I have no talent for war or killing, but I can do what I can, to help the healing and comfort of a nation that will not give in or give up the fight...
Then quit yapping about it and go away.
Doesn’t it make more sense to fire the people ruining America?
It it all get’s straightened after you’ve left, just do the right thing and don’t come back.
