Can you answer my question?

This concerns the candidate Meg Whitman, running for Governor of California.

I haven't made my mind up yet about my vote. I think it will hinge on the answers I get to a lot of my questions about her. There are a lot of people on this forum with a lot of wisdom, so I would appreciate your answers.

Meg Whitman was a guest on a local radio show in Fresno. When asked if she, as Governor, would turn on the water pumps to the west side valley farmers. She said yes. She was asked if she could bear the consequences of such an act. she said yes. My question is... can she do that? Is it that simple? Or is it just some talk to secure some votes? Thanks for your imput.

I know our Representative Devin Nunes has tirelessly tried to get the Congress to introduce bills to alleviate the problem, to no avail.

Nothing is that simple. Having the leftist Dems control the legislature and the US Congress doesn’t help. But at least she would genuinly try and may succeed.

On the other hand, Poizner does have a history of trying to get rid of Prop 13 and some other non-conservative activities, and I don’t think he can be trusted. In addition, he is a lot less likely to beat Pat Brown. Whitman is a successful business woman

Then you look at Whitman vs. Brown. Brown won’t even try to get water to the farmers, he thinks the fish are more important and people can just starve.

This thread may help a bit http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2468565/posts

Until we have someone who will break the unions (thanks Jerry Brown!) here, nothing will change. She is not tough enough to do it.

A portion of text from an email flyer that I received last night.:

California Freepers - Tea Party - April 15th State Capitol in Sacramento

“A New Day a New Way...

Well we all know that the dreaded Health Care Bill passed. This is where we go from here...

There are legal challenges being filed as we speak to this Bill. It is now in the hands of those who fight for the Constitution and I will update as the news comes in on these filings. One Constitutional attorney sent me his statement regarding his concern after thoroughly reading the bill; “...this legislation really has not intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead, it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated. If this law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United States will effectively have been destroyed”.

Contact the GOP members of the House and thank them for their support and strength! Especially John Boehner who gave an inspired speech on the House Floor!

Many are asking where do we go from here. For us in California, we ask our Attorney General, Jerry Brown to file a lawsuit and follow 10 other State’s Attorney Generals’ in suing over the Constitutionality of the mandates. Our Attorney General is also running for Governor so this helps two fold. If he doesn’t seek to file on behalf of the state which is bankrupt now and can’t afford these mandates we will be able to show this as he makes his run for Governor. He was elected to protect the state of California.”....

CA Freepers, please heed the call to action.

That is particularly disturbing as I was just watching a video of her saying she just had dinner with him and that was it. OKaaayyyyy. A huge fan. Hmmm.

Dear God ... why can't we get a candidate with integrity.

The fastest way to get the water back on, would be for the Farmers to STOP SELLING TO GOVERNMENT, unless they pay in Gold and Silver Coin as stated in Article 1 section 10.

You are so right. The unions will bring Detroit with great weather. It is so much better to get mugged in nice weather.

Didn’t Obama cut a deal with a couple of reps to get the water back on? Or, is that some other place in CA?

I’m in CA. We need a big name to beat Brown. We won with Schwarzenegger, but he wasn’t the perfect candidate. Nor has he been a perfect Gov. He just beats the heck out of Gray Davis. It is only binary.

I’m supporting Meg Whitman, not that I agree with her on too much of anything, being a Tea Party sort myself. But because I CANNOT STAND Jerry Brown. I don’t expect to see Poizner after the Primaries.

I won’t be voting for her in the primary. Probably will not for Stevie either. In the general I will vote for Anyone But Brown even if that means another yucky repukican( and no that is not a misspelling)

Another example of treachery, smoke and mirrors. Cardoza (D) and Costa (D) traded their HCB votes for an upgrade in water allotment from 4% to 25%. Nice deal, huh? They wanted to look like they really cared for their districts dilemma. The deal came out just before their vote. They didn't fool anyone. All their previous votes on water were in favor to shut off the pumps in favor of radical environmental 'opinions' that supposedly save delta bait fish instead of supporting struggling farmers.

What it all boils down to is to control the people by shutting their water supply off and on. Obey and you might get a trickle... disobey and suffer. Coming to a county near you.
