The angry faces at Tea Party rallies are eerily familiar. They resemble faces of protesters lining the street at the University of Alabama in 1956 as Autherine Lucy, the school's first black student, bravely tried to walk to class.
Those same jeering faces could be seen gathered around the Arkansas National Guard troopers who blocked nine black children from entering Little Rock's Central High School in 1957.
"They moved closer and closer," recalled Elizabeth Eckford, one of the Little Rock Nine. "Somebody started yelling, 'Lynch her! Lynch her!' I tried to see a friendly face somewhere in the crowd -- someone who maybe could help. I looked into the face of an old woman and it seemed a kind face, but when I looked at her again, she spat on me."
Those were the faces I saw at a David Duke rally in Metairie, La., in 1991: sullen with resentment, wallowing in victimhood, then exploding with yells of excitement as the ex-Klansman and Republican gubernatorial candidate spewed vitriolic white-power rhetoric.
People like that old woman in Little Rock, the Alabama mob that hounded Autherine Lucy, the embracers of Duke's demagoguery in Louisiana, never go away.
They were spotted last weekend on Capitol Hill under the Tea Party banner protesting the health-care-reform bill. Some carried a signs that read "If Brown [Scott Brown (R-Mass.)] can't stop it, a Browning [high power weapon] can." Some shouted racial and homophobic epithets at members of Congress. Others assumed the role of rabble, responding to the calls of instigating Republican representatives gathered on a Capitol balcony. [emphasis mine]

Who does that sound like?
Any racism in politics today is coming from the Left. I’ve been to Tea Party meetings. No, I did not see any African-Americans... ok, I saw one. But that doesn’t mean they are not welcome. If fact, they’re more than welcome. Everybody is welcome. If you value liberty, if you’re tired of your freedom and property being stolen, then get with your local Tea Party, and it doesn’t matter what color or creed you are. The more people we have with the Tea Parties, the better our chances of re-taking the country.
To quote Joseph Goebbels:
“Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play.”
Their tactics aren’t going to work. Too many Americans realize their country is being destroyed by the enemies within.
Joseph Goebbel’s would be proud of the goons in the MSM.
And these “readers” were going to vote GOP in Nov??
No secret to what is happening, but it still works because most people don't know what is happening, and because of the power of the MSM.
Help fight it, pass the word on their use of Alinsky. In fact, the Tea Party should begin to quote Alinsky in it's handouts to illustrate to others the ideology and bias of the MSM - it's actually an opportunity.
"OLD WITHERED WHITE PEOPLE GO BACK TO YOUR TRAILOR PARKS AND YOU GUNS.
You did your dirtiest and you still lost.
Your time has passed. Die out gracefully on your porches full of old furniture and junk.
We don't need you or want you. Health care got so expensive because you are all so fat and lazy and hateful you clogged all your arteries and can't think.
Once we have twelve million more hispanic voters with amnesty you won't even be able to elect your own sheriff."
Let's not forget Robert Byrd, ex-Klansman and Democrat.
I would be very surprised if Colbert King attended the event. He is making stuff up.
The only truly HATRED in evidence is his writing.
DO NOT SHRINK IN THE FACE OF MARXIST PROPAGANDA!!
PUT YOUR HEAD DOWN AND PUSH THROUGH THIS BULL SH—!!!
INCREASE THE PRESSURE ON THE SOB’S WHO INFLICTED TYRANNY ON US!
ESCALATE!
Obama voter and fellow Communist.
Anyone who doesn’t read the Washington Post is full hatred and racist!
Let's not forget that David Duke first ran for office as a Democrat. At the time, Democrats raised no objections whatsoever to his blatant racism. The Democrat Party never rejected his candidacy. That Party never urged voters to vote for his opponent.
When Duke decided to run as a Republican, only then did Democrats object to his racism. And unlike the Democrats, the Republican Party soundly rebuked his candidacy and urged its voters to support Duke's Democrat opponent. See the contrast?
Now consider Robert Byrd. Only three years after filibustering against the Civil Rights Act and two years after voting against the Republican Voting Rights Act, Byrd was elected Secretary of the Senate Democratic Conference. Ten years later, Byrd became Senate Majority Leader - quite an accomplishment for a Klucker. Democrats have no moral standing whatsoever when it comes to racism.
Gov. Orval Faubus (Democrat) ordered the Arkansas National Guard to prevent blacks from attending Central High.
Dwight Eisenhower (Repbublican) sent in the 101st Airborne to enforce the Supreme Court order.
The Talking Points coming from the Alinsky Thugs seem to be making the rounds. Tea Party must be a threat, for it has joined the ranks of Things They Must Demonize.
I remember being in the military during the Viet Nam war, and the faces of the “liberals” and the slurs they spewed. Then I also remember the Republican convention in 2008, and how the “liberals” vandalized the delegates cars, sprayed bleach in their eyes, and yelled slurs and venomous attacks on the delegates. I remember in the 2004 election how the “liberal” vanadalized campaign offices, the “liberals” who broke into one and beat up the women working in it, and they 3 that “liberals” shot the windows out of them. And the press was silent about this abuse.
I find it hypocritical that most Left/Liberal commentary on Right Wing expressions of violence and hatred SKIP RIGHT OVER the Liberal anti-war anti-government demonstrations of the late 60s and 70s to align itself self-righteously with the Civil Rights movement.
Like the Tea Party movement, the rebellion of the 60s/70s was on the whole peaceable - far messier, but peaceable - yet was also characterized by subgroups espousing and practicing violence, with similar over focus on that by the media.
But I will call out the violent extremists on the Right in their hypocrisy as well, as they most closely resemble what they espouse to despise: Bill Ayers and the WeatherUnderground and the extremists of the SDS.
You can’t have it both ways. Violence is not the answer.
It’s now taboo to be “angry.” Unless someone disagrees with your “right” to use abortion as birth control, or believes that anthroplogical global warming is a myth, or that guns are evil, or that, or that, or that...
“
“If Brown [Scott Brown (R-Mass.)] can’t stop it, a Browning
[high power weapon] can.”
“
I do NOT advocate violence at this point.
But as former Rep. “B-1” Bob Dornan had to remind Maxine Waters
in the House of Representatives...the Second Amendment is NOT about hunting.
It’s about reminding our elected officials that if they go too far...
there are many armed citizens.
And that even if they don’t go on the offensive, they very well put
up resistance if shock troops are sent to their homes for non-compliance
with a very questionable extraction of funds from average citizens.
...today's Tea Party adherents are George Wallace legacies.
And they dare call us racists?
They dare accuse us of instigating hatred?
What a POS this author is. My opnion is not based on the color of his skin, but his lack of character revealed by his own words.
